Autopano Video - Preferences - Encoding

Encoding Tab



  • Preset: let's select the encoding profile.
    • H.264 Auto (HD or 4K): automatically selects the most appropriate H.264 profile from 4K to the most basic profile depending on your input size.
    • H.264 HD: automatically selects the most appropriate H.264 profile from 2K (1920x1080) to the most basic profile depending on your input size.
    • H.264 4K: appropriate for final videos with a maximum size of 4096x2048 pixels.
    • H.264 4K Cinema: appropriate for final videos with a maximum size of 4096x2160 pixels.
    • H.264 4K UHDTV: appropriate for final videos with a maximum size of 3840x2160 pixels.
    • H.264 Blu-ray: corresponds to BluRay quality (1920x1080 pixels)
    • Custom profiles: you can create your own profile by duplicating one these default profiles, see copy.


  • Copy allows you to duplicate, rename and customize an existing profile. You can delete a custom preset.


  • Max size: indicates the maximum size supported by the selected preset.


  • Standard: selects video standard (PAL or NTSC).


  • FPS: defines the number of frame per second in the output video.


  • Video bitrate: defines the value of the quantity of video information transmitted in one second, the upper limit depends on the profile level.


  • Audio bitrate: defines the value of the quantity of audio information transmitted in one second.
