Scaling for lowres image on highres display

I have some old panos (10 years) where the image resolution is quite low. Lately I have experienced issues displaying this on my 2.5K res monitor. See cylinder example below. I'm worried that this issue will rapidly increase as people get 4K monitors.
Has anyone else seen this phenomena ?

So from your screenshot it looks like a panorama that isn't a 360x180° projected spherically?

Partial panoramas aren't supported in the HTML5 player, so only the generated cube faces are used, limiting the resolution greatly.

If you still have the source files then there's a tip on that page that should help you get some resolution back.

Thanks for the tip, I will have a closer look at the link later.

It's a cylinder. I have at least 100 panos that is cylinders, and most of the tours are made in previous PTP versions, not supporting HTML5.
This tour is remade with Panotour Pro V2.1.3 and should be playable with flash as well as HTML5.

Your panorama is projected spherically and isn't a full sphere, so no multi-res, and a lower resolution.

It was shot in 2005 handheld with a Olympus Camedia 960 camera with a 1.3mpixel sensor !

There isn't much need for multires anyway :-)

I've tried the guide in
http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/vie ... player_.3F
I've expanded the cylinder to a sphere adding black on top and bottom.
I've altered the registry (win7 64bit) as described in
viewtopic.php?f=97&t=23360&p=147687&hilit=partial+ios#p147679

It does not work :-( neither does ?html5=never for windows users

On a sphere use the crop tool of the hotspot editor to limit top and bottom parts on the panorama.
