I've been using Autopano Video 2.6.2 perfectly on my PC with the following specifications:
Operating System Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit CPU Intel Core i5 6600 @ 3.30GHz Skylake 14nm Technology RAM 16,0GB Single-Channel Unknown @ 1066MHz (15-15-15-36) Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. We've recently upgraded our software and bought Autopano Video 3 to use, mainly for it's parallax solutions. However the program won't start on launch. I've tried the following things and it still doesn't work:
- Uninstalling / reinstalling - Ran as an Administrator - Clearing all program info with Ccleaner - Booting Windows on Safe Mode - Disabling everything possible
However, I was able to install and run it on my laptop with the following specifications:
Operating System Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU Intel Core i5 3210M @ 2.50GHz Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology RAM 6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28) Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Everytime I try to run the software, the process is shown on the task manager as a suspended process briefly, then it closes itself, as shown in attached picture
I know people from Kolor haven't been able to reproduce the bug on their machines, but I really need to use the big PC specifically to run this software, as it's the one that has the most ram and better graphics card.
I apologize for the inconvenience. First of all, be sure that you have installed the very latest proprietary NVIDIA driver (398.11 - June 5th). I recommend you choose "Custom install" and select "Clean install" option at the beginning of the installation. Once installed, in NVIDIA settings, check if that GPU is the default one used for Autopano Video. Disabled the antivirus as well for testing.
After my initial post, I updated all my Nvidia drivers and tried to force autopano tu use the Nvidia GPU, however this is what the software looks like (attached picture).
I can't really select the GPU for autopano, it always shows the remove and restore buttons in grey. Using any other software enables those buttons and lets me actually select the gpu for them.
I hope I'm not doing anything wrong.
Thanks in advance
Ninja Edit: I only use Windows defender as an antivirus and I've also tried the windows compatibility troubleshooting option to see if the program would run on any other windows virtual version, alas, it doesn't.
To be sure AV uses your dedicated GPU, go to AV Preferences, Check GLSL engine (I have no doubt that it uses your NVIDIA card by default). Any bloatware you could remove from the system? Also, if you have some codecs installed, I invite you to remove them, then test. Any other application running at the same time (Adobe for instance)? AV is installed on the system disk?
I can't go to AV preferences because the program won't start.
I've removed anything not necessary from the system, but it doesn't have any bloatware as this is a custom built pc.
I haven't installed any codecs at all, nor anything else is running. As I said, I've tried running the program with everything else closed, via Safe Boot without any other drivers or anything that might be foreign to video editing applications and it really doesn't run.
I've tried installing the software on the system disk and other disks, however it simply won't run.
Yes, it actually does. In one moment I had 2.6.2 installed at the same time with 3 and only 2.6.2. ran, however I uninstalled it as I thought it was a compatibility problem between both of them.
We are discussing with the developers to try to find what's wrong on the system. This is quite complex on Windows computers as you can have a lot of conflicts with other softwares/drivers.
Could you open the registry then change gpuEngine value to 0 here: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kolor\Autopano Video 3.0\avkernel\
Start Autopano Video and let me know if it solves your issue.

I tried changing the gpuEngine value, however even though I have installed Autopano video 3.0 on the default filepath, it doesn't show on the registry path you're talking about, here's a screenshot of what I see (attached picture)
In the meantime I'll try to locate the Autopano Video 3.0 file elsewere on the registry
Could you add that registery file to your system (it concerns AV3 of course), the edit it and change gpuEngine to 0 (zero) and let me know if AV finally starts?
- Tried downloading the registry file and double clicking - Tried manually creating the path Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kolor\Autopano Video 3.0\avkernel and importing the registry thiny - Tried running the Registry Editor as an administrator
Yes, I'm the sole user and Admin of this pc, I've already given all the permissions to the registry editor, the file you send to me and in general all things I could do, however I can't seem to import that registry file
We are having the exact same problem. AVP 2.6 starts up fine, AVP 3.0 is immediately suspended by the task-manager. We tried importing the registry-key posted by Olivier as well, but it won't import. So, same issue as user Viewy reported. How can this be resolved?
Win10, GTX 1080, 32GB Ram, problem has only occurred with AVP 3, not before. Help, please? Thanks!
