Masking not applied from Giga With Correct Settings

by simply360 » Tue Apr 24, 2018 2:54 am

Hi I am new to APV, I am able to do EVERYTHING (vertical correction, and everything else) but for some reason masking used through Autopano giga is not coming through in APV. I am almost pulling my hair out as my client decided to stand in the middle of the stitch line (off his mark) and even though in giga it comes out smooth and is corrected, in APV a hardline stitch goes down his face no matter what I do.

Any advice would be awesome.
As you can see from here the difference

Also to answer everyone's question that they will ask:
1. All content from the unstitched video files, APV, APG files are in the same folder.
2. When it comes to blending I have followed the instruction to the letter: blending:
"multiband, level -2, cutting ISO, no Weighting. In AVP, blend -> sharp"

Using Insta360 Pro. Win 10 Creators update

Hello,

Thanks for reading the documentation ;)
Stitching tab is selected in AV before you edit the panorama to APG?
Does all other correction applied (color/stitching improvement/...)?

Cheers,
Olivier

Thanks for getting back to me. Hopefully thia will get resolved. These are my exact steps:
1. Load up APV
2. Drag / drop video files from folder on desktop
3. Click Stitch tab – (fill out lens model details) – Current position – then click stitch
4. In the RealTime window click on – Edit (this loads up APG
5. Click ‘Edit” in APG for the files sent from APV
6. Click modify yaw, pitch roll – make changes
7. Click Modify colour anchor – make changes
8. Click Mask Edition - add masking point on clients face – hit apply / save
9. Go back to APV

All corrections from yaw pitch roll, colour adjustment are seen in APV – masking is not.
I can confirm the APV, APG & video files all in the same folder on my Desktop.

AVP v3.0.0
APG 4.4.1 - I noticed it says that the latest version to export to AVG is 4.2? As I am using 4.4.1 do I need to downgrade?

Am I doing something wrong or out or sequence? I am using the trial version (which from my understanding is the same as the licenced version except for its limitation (EG time limit and branding). I was going to test before I buy. Am I missing or doing something wrong?

Hello,

Control points and Masking points are not saved in the project file when using a trial version, as stated in our FAQ. The rendered video is limited to 30sec and you have watermarks as well.

The message which appears just inform users that you may own APG 4.2 minimum. No need to downgrade your version.

Kind regards,
Olivier

Thats a crappy trial - you cant use masking when only using the trial - So you are saying that if I purchase a licence then it will work as intended... that should be rectified in your trials. Time limit and watermark it fine (its a trial after all) but a basic feature to see the quality of the work that AVP can produce is literally removed. As a person on the edge of buying this the fact that my work is coming out #### from using AVP as a result of no masking is kind of silly.
