Feature Request: Pan and zoom sensitivity settings

by nagoyajin » Sun Oct 11, 2015 1:46 pm

Currently the panning an zooming is quite fast, particularly via control buttons. It's quite easy for the view to spin out of control. It would be useful to be able to set the sensitivities in the tour properties and to be able to save the desired sensitivities as defaults.

Thanks. Which XML file should the code be added to?

Add the <control> tag at the end of the YOURTOUR_core.xml file to be sure to overwrite Panotour values.

I added <control> keybspeed=“1.0” </control> to the end of my core xml file but it had no effect.

Also, any changes i make to the core xml file are overwritten when rebuilding so this isn't really a good solution. This is the type of change that one would want likely want to apply to ALL projects. Am I the only one who things the control bar zoom and pan speeds are way too fast?

Since this is a feature request, I had an idea for another option that could be a good feature - stepped zooming and panning. That is, a click on a pan control could move a set number of degrees in that direction (regardless of duration of the click). e.g. if step is set to 30º, 3 clicks would step 90º. The same with zoom it could be set to number of steps for the range (i.e., if it is set to 10, it would take 10 clicks to go from the widest to the narrowest FOV.
