REMOVING DISTORTION

by charliepinphoto » Mon Nov 27, 2017 9:07 pm

Hi All
Can anyone advise if it is possible to remove the "bendy" distortion in the gigapixels created from shooting multiple images and a panoramic head? I have shot 680 images with 220deg left to right, and 120deg bottom to top, but want to "flatten" the image so there is less of a convex feel to it.
Is it possible to do so and if so how?
Thanks for your help
Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I'm afraid that what you want to achieve is not possible.
The flat projection is not useful beyond about 120 degrees of visual field and physically impossible when it approaches 180.

See: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutori ... ctions.htm

I'm sorry to bring bad news,
Jordi
