Burper, I think this is already available http://www.autopano.net/forum/t6748-papywizard-timelapse-preset-generator which you already know of. With permission there is a live version on my site here http://www.photosbykev.com/wordpress/tips-and-trick/merlin-preset-generator/

I'd be more than happy with a speed controller inside Papywizard and use an intervalometer plugged into the camera :) For a test this morning I shot a 480 exposure sequence at 0.1 degree intervals using the timelapse generator posted on the forum. I wanted a delay between shots so I upped the stabil...

I tried using a RAM player to look at the shots and it is super smooth. I will try and export motion curve from it. It must be at my end lol I'll be running a timelapse test this morning with just a pan motion on it, I just need to find my 10 stop ND fliters to get the shutter speed down to a reaso...

Here is the test... I don't know how smooth the compression is at Vimeo. http://www.vimeo.com/10077334 good start :) it does looks like there maybe some lost motion/backlash in the drivehead though. There is an occasional pause in the motion which I don't think is down to the streaming?

I got interested in that matter to be able to use this to activate a servo for a dolly movement after the shutter has been activated. So the Papywizard could be used for the merlin/orion for pan and tilt and while it could activate a dolly movement handled by an arduino. Any ideas what would be nee...

what's your price / performance goal? IMO, what you have is fine, just get a new MB, CPU and DDR3 RAM. Look out for how the RAM is registered, some combinations of memory force the i7 to use the memory bus at 800 MHz regardless of how fast the RAM is. If the disk controller is on the MB, make sure ...

Time to upgrade the computer

since building my last computer in 2007 I haven't really looked at improvements in processors, motherboards and hard drives so I'd appreciate some advice on re-building the system as I'm getting seriously bored waiting for panos to render lol. The new system will be use primarily for photography and...

See here - that was done only in APT: http://www.360impressions.de/TourCan.html . After building the tour in APT i edited just the speed and smoothness of movements in the xml. best, Klaus really nice tour but, imo, I think the pulsating hotspots (from APT) are very poor and looks like an amateur w...

Glad you managed to figure it our nonetheless.

So does the preset work OK for your Canon 350D + Samyang setup?

No idea, as Gordon asked the original question, I shoot with a Canon 7D :) it works well with that.

Hi Andrew, I think you missed a line in the code i.e the header this code works on my N800 with the Samyang 8mm but fails without the header <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <papywizard> <preset name="Samyang on Canon 1.6x crop"> <tooltip> 6 picts @ -15° 1 picts @ +65° Add Nadir manually </too...

Are there any controls within APG to control the level of fusion/shadow/highlighting being applied to the bracketed images or should I stay with Photomatrix and then APG? Until such time as Kolor delivers promised effective exposure blending and HDR processing within APP/APG the consensus seems to ...

Exposure Fusion - Photomatrix or APG?

I've took the Merlin and my toys out to the harbour this morning to give it a good run out. Using bracketed exposures to get some detail into the strong shadows generated by the low early morning sun and the blue sky. Back in the cottage I've found that using APG to blend the images tends to give an...

Most of my panos are with a 10-22, 17-40mm or a fisheye although I will be playing with longer lenses some day. I do want to accurately nail the npp for each lens so a set of holes or probably a long slot with two fixing screws to keep the lens aligned along the bracket will do it. I may have to go ...

Fine Kev, Nice "modified crown" ! :) ;) It seems that you have a Merlin "Formula Uno" ;) I'm pleased so far but I need to revise the crown and support arm to get the Camera over the vertical axis, at the moment it's still 12mm too far away from the Merlin vertical arm. I will probably make up a sli...

Merlin - up and running

A quick post showing the Merlin doing its thing controlled by Papywizard on the Nokia N800 via a BT module. http://www.photosbykev.com/wordpress/2010/03/06/merlinpapywizard-panoramic-head/ The original crown has been replaced by a machined aluminium crown and at the moment it supports a Manfrotto ma...

I don't use Macs but with Windows notepad if you wrap the filename.ext with " " i.e "preset.xml" notepad saves the file in basic text but with the xml extension rather than appending the .txt extension. Macs may do the same if you just select text rather than xml? . Failing that save the file as a t...

jeongyun, thanks for the doc. About gphoto2 on N8x0, even if it has been ported, the big issue will be the USB port! I read it is possible to turn the N810 USB port to host-type (rather than slave), but it needs to be externally powered up... Not that simple! Life is never easy, there wouldn't be a...
