Great, I'd much prefer 11-12th July, as I'll be elsewhere on the 4-5th July. Having looked forward to this, I'd be loathe to miss it if it's on the wrong weekend.

I too would like to hear how APG benefits from 64 bit rather than just 64 bit computing in generic terms

For those among us less computer-tech minded, what can the 64 bit version do that the 32 bit can't? I've got an iMac with Core Duo, which can apparently only run 32 bit, and a Core2DuoMacbook Pro which can run 64bit. What benefits or advantages will I see on the Macbook Pro? Is the 64 v 32 only a pr...

Once again, this subject has failed to gather any momentum. I've been looking forward to this so much since it was mentioned, and now I am worried at this point that it will be left too late to be able to arrange anything. I know there's maybe not a lot that can be done about booking a venue until i...

Haha, yeah, a cardboard box is somewhat less than travel friendly. Finding some kind of padded case with the flexibility inside, to fit, with maybe a slight adaptation the shape of the foam would be good. The foam fitting around the head being vital, as it's an odd shape, and a precision instrument,...

Alexandre, I'm not sure if I've understood this properly from the translation I got. What is the reference to a double meeting? Would the bus be to drive people from the Lyon-Grenoble area to Cologne? Good to see you entering the discussion on this, as hopefully it will speed up progress on planning...

These questions are from the point of view of a Mac user, Perhaps we can yet wean you off that nasty habit? Not a chance, Andrew, not a chance. :P Seeing as I started this thread asking about netbooks, I feel I ought to update it with announcing that I've had an attack of good sense, and toda...

Ah well, there's always something newer and better on the horizon. But for now, this would suit my needs adequately. I had said above, that if a netbook cost more than €300 - €350, then I would be better off getting a full size laptop for maybe €150 more. But there's the mobility aspect. It wi...

Now we're talking! Great info, Joe, can you expand on the size of the input files and the total output, and the time taken for total rendering, please. Andrew, No, I had not seen that page, thanks. The reason I mentioned Tronisoft was that I saw them mentioned in the early pages of some threads and ...

Ooops, please pardon my lack of knowledge on the subject. When I saw Nokia, I thought that's what it was. They have never before engaged my interest, but now that I'm aware of them, and with a use for them, that will probably change. Having read a little bit more about Papywizard and Merlin/Orion he...

2009-03: Papywizard 1.9 now runs on MacOS (10.4only for now). Thanks to Jeremy!

Andrew, I wouldn't be using a fisheye. My lowest current focal length is 17mm on a 40D, which is about 26-27mm. So there would be quite a few more involved in a 360 X 180 than a fisheye lens. At some point, I'd be interested in hopefully running Papywizard with a Merlin/Orion too. But the notion of ...

Andrew, thanks for the quick response, Some can take 2GB of RAM. I don't know what brand or model takes what, really, I just wanted to know if I ought to take any more time in considering them, or not. The Atom processor should be a fairly appreciable jump in technology and performance on a P3. But ...

APG on Netbooks

Has anybody got APP or now, APG 1.9.5 Beta running on a 9-10" netbook with an Atom processor? If so, how well does it run, if at all? Would it just be overwhelmed by lack of power? Are they just totally unsuitable for any graphics use whatsoever? I'd like to get one of these for mobility, and max it...

A couple more questions to consider... Will this be a weekend event or midweek? Edit... Just read the original post and see it is a weekend event. Will any presentations be shown on Friday evening or just to meet up? If not, I guess those who arrive on Friday to stay there and be ready for Saturday,...

I suppose the interest in the release of 1.9.5 has taken everyone's attention, but I think we should not forget to keep this in mind, or otherwise, May will be upon us, and then there will only be one month to plan. As was said before, the earlier we decide a venue and date, the earlier and thus hop...

I'm really very surprised that there has been no further discussion on this. I would have thought it would be getting more interest.

If not, then those few who have expressed interest will arrive at Chez Klauss in the middle of June. Don't say you weren't warned, Klauss :D

Have the drinks ready.

You would say that, Klauss ;) I'm really excited by this prospect, and look forward to further developments. Cologne-Bonn would indeed be a great venue for accessibility, both in cost and location. There are links to good inexpensive hotel rates too on the GermanWings website. Is it intended that th...

How does the functionality and features of Pano2VR compare with KRPano, which as I understand will be an integral feature of APG?

Thank you

That looks incredible. An excellent complement to APP in the short term. I just wonder how far away would Alexandre, Lionel and co. be, from discovering their own solution to offer this functionality. Certainly, I see it being a key feature of APP 3. If indeed, it's not updated before that. I haven'...

Interesting to note your point, Klaus, on trying to stitch images of different sizes. It was this exact issue with Stitcher, that prompted me to go looking for another alternative, that led me to find APP, thanks to your post on Open Forums. I downloaded and tried PT, but it just never captured my i...
