Autopano Giga 2.6: quality and speed
Autopano Giga 2.6 can be resumed in these two words. The stitching quaity has been improved thanks to a renewed management of lens distorsions and the overall panorama quality profits from a better harmonization of the colors, a better control of the exposure fusion and a better anti-ghost blending (see examples below). The speed has been greatly improved in the optimization step; this is particularly visible on fisheye images. Finally, Autopano Giga 2.6 introduces plugins for third-party software so you can export your images from photo management software (Adobe Bridge, Google Picasa, Adobe Lightroom or Apple Aperture) directly to Autopano Giga.
A super-fast optimization
Autopano Giga 2.6 is up to 10x faster than version 2 and 2.5x faster than version 2.5 in the optimization stage. This is particularly visible on fisheye images. Our benchmark is based on 6 fisheye photos in RAW format.

Better color harmonization by the render engine
Colors are harmonized in a better way at the rendering stage and the result is homogeneous as never bofore. Blue skies are particularly prettier in Autopano Giga 2.6.

Improved image stitching and correction of distorsions
Autopano Giga 2.6 includes a brand new correction of lens distorsions: cases that were difficult to stitch in the previous versions are now perfectly stitched together.

Better control upon exposure fusion
In Autopano Giga, a new slider lets you adjust the level of the multiband blender. This gives you more control upon the exposure fusion to create bracketed panoramas that either keep natural colors or give them an "HDR" effect.

New plugins for Picasa, Aperture, Bridge and Lightroom
Autopano Giga now comes with 4 plugins that you can install if you have one of these third-party applications: Picasa, Aperture, Bridge and Lighroom. These plugins let you export a group of images from your favorite photo management app to Autopano Giga. The modifications you may have done in these apps on your photos are automatically conserved during the export process.
