A quick question about RAW

by zentaroo » Thu Jul 26, 2018 4:35 am

I was able to import DNG files into APG and stitch them together. On export, I wanted to keep the RAW format so I exported the file as a .kro file but Lightroom doesn't see it. What should I do? I'll try opening it in Photoshop in the mean time and see what happens.

You cannot stitch raw files and output as raw. Raw files contain data which has not been demosaiced, while APG (and all panorama stitchers I'm aware of) operate on demosaiced data. When you open a raw file, it gets automatically demosaiced.

The DNG format can store demosaiced data, but I wouldn't call that raw. A TIFF file can do the same (in fact, DNG is based on TIFF/EP).
