NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 not supported???

by bbbence » Wed Jul 12, 2017 8:06 pm

Hi,
I'm trying to render some gigapixel panoramas with autopano giga. (300.000x150.000 px fullsphere) But it is renderig only with CPU, even if GPU processing is enabled and fast editor too.
I was tracking the GPU performance during the render, and it was not used at all.
Could you tell what could be wrong?

My confiuration is 64 GB RAM, i7-6900 3.20GHz, 1 TB SSD free space for chache and temp files, and a Geforce GTX 1080 video card.

Thank you!

Hello,

GPU is mainly used for the preview and when you open a gigapixel panorama project to display it as quick as possible.
Other calculations are managed by the CPU.

Best regards,
Olivier

I just exported the same project with PTGui within 50 minutes (import, preview, render). It was using GPU during the render.

I'm very disappointed with Autopano Giga's result, which was over 20 hours+. And it is not true, that Autopano uses GPU for preview, because it wasn't using the GPU during for generating preview, geometrical analysis, or optimisation.

For a 200Euro stitching software, I really expect a lot more efficiency. Especially if a 70 Euros Software has a lot better CUDA programing.

Kolor please do something about it!!

Hello

We have the same problem with a GeForce GTX 1080 card with the latest Nvidia driver (399.07). No real-time preview and our renders appear to be corrupted. The application crashes a lot. OpenGl works. We have 32 MB of memory on a fast Alienware Area 51 machine. Please advice.
