Jane Austen Walkabout

by john_willetts » Thu Oct 15, 2009 12:04 pm

Hi,

I moved across to Autopano Pro a few months ago after running comparative tests with PT Gui - which, in my opinion, it outperforms on most counts.

Yesterday, while sorting out the upgrade, I came across this Forum and thought I'd share the results.

Normaly, when I post a pan, I show a snapshot:

and put in a link:
http://www.j-a-willetts-esq.com/austen.html

But this Galley seems to be different. I only see 'flat' cylindical photos, not spherical pans.

Am I in the wrong place?

John

Hi John,

Its good to see you over here on the APP forum.

I commented on your original posting on this over on the panoguide forum and have done so for some of your other contributions previously posted there. I think you will find that things are much more friendly over here and more constructive. Not so clicky I find.

You are right in only flat panos can be shown on the forum with no facility for complete 360's to be shown (can always ask this to Kolor I guess!) but normal process is to do what you have exactly done! Post a pic and then the link.

I also did the same comparison to PTGUI and found APP to be much easier to use in stitching and now with AP Tour and integration with KR Pano, I think that it is very useful application for the complete VT package.

Welcome to the happy APP forum :)

Hi John,

well done. It's always a challenge to shoot panoramas with people pictured in key-positions. For this purpose APP with it's Smartblend-Function is really helpful.
