Panotour 2.5 Keeps Closing

by ori0n » Thu Feb 16, 2017 12:57 pm

Hi,

I have just upgraded my panotour from 1.8 to 2.5

I realised that in my 2.5 version it crashes out very easily. I can't even get to maximise my program.

Please kindly advise.

Justin

Have you been able to send in any crash reports?

What is your computer configuration?

I have the same issue. EVERY TIME I click build the software crashes! Tried both the 32 & 64-bit version and they behave exactly the same! uninstalled and re-installed a number of times and the problem just keep on coming!

Same question mastrom, have you been able to send in crash reports so that I can check them?

I haven't managed to find any with your forum account's e-mail.

What is your full computer config?
Which version of Panotour are you using?
Is this on a new project, one made in an older version of PTP?

I haven't received any crash-reports. The software just closes. And it's a new project. Bought Panotour yesterday because I was going to use it in my startup but now I'm considering other options, this was just a first test and it didn't go well.

My pc is a win10 64-bit machine,
Intelbased with a intel 6850 cpu, 32gb ddr4 memory and nvidia gtx1070 graphics cards. Running on a Samsung 950 ssd

I have the same issue of crashing everty time I try to start the programme, although I was running the a trial version. I thought of installing it on a different machine only for it not to load the panoroma, nothing happens. Its like I never added any panoroma images. It shows its loading upto 100% then nothing.

Have you been able to send in a crash report with your e-mail so that I can look it up?

What is your graphics card, and are the drivers up to date?
I found your crash reports except that they're... empty.

Do any previous versions have this issue? Like 2.5.5, 2.5.4 ?
You can download those here: http://www.kolor.com/download-previous-versions/

There is an open bug on Mac for crashes when removing scenes.
Can you use any previous versions?

@edgar_ali, if you haven't already, download PTP 2.5.7 which solves the bug you were having on Mac.

@mastrom, I still don't have any crash reports from you.
Do you have any Lavasoft malware on your computer? (Even remains)
Do you have any manufacturer pre-installed applications like Dell Backup and recovery tool, MSI Nahimic, or others?

When the software crashes, this window pops up.
Kolor crash reporter.png

Make sure that your e-mail is in the window, and click on upload.

Without a crash report, I can't tell you why the crash is happening, since from your symptoms it would be Lavasoft or some similar malware causing issues with PTP.

No, this window doesn't show up. The software just close down.

I will have to lock this thread, it keeps getting hijacked by unrelated crashes (but nonetheless serious), making it impossible manage the posted issues. Anyone with crashes, please make sure you create a new topic with details, and if you can send in a crash report with your e-mail address so that it can be found!

@gholder26, I need you to create a new topic with your issue, and provide additional information:
The crash seems to occur managing the "memory" for a scene, when Panotour creates cache files to handle the image and any changes. This could happen if your image is corrupted (and as such not supported by the software's internal libraries) or if your disk has issues like no more free space for example.

1) When exactly does the crash happen? As soon as you select a scene?
2) Does it crash with any image or one or some particular ones? If one or several particular ones, what are they/can you zip some and share them?
3) Is your Temp folder full? Could you try assigning a Temp folder specific for PTP from the software settings?

@mastrom, Did you do an in-depth search for Lavasoft components? Even after an uninstall of such malware, some components can remain.
