Annoying cache clearing

With PTP 2.5 I have to clear the browser cache for every single change I make, which means an additional three clicks for every change! This wasn't the case with previous version, I could just reload the pano to amke the changes visible. So waht's the deal here?

Actually depending on your browser cache has been an issue for quite a while, and not only for Panotour users (a simple Google search will show you that) but anyone that has created something that requires testing in a web browser.

Which browser are you using?

I actually have the same problem, but it is not every single time but very often. Mostly when I do only minor changes. I have chrome myself. Any fixes for this?

Ctrl+F5 or when you are checking your tour ddo it in a incognito window.

Or there are some extensions you can use that will clear the cache of your current page like Cache Killer.


It's a browser issue, more or less common to all browsers.

no had some people telling me that safari did not work when they tried, but that might be mostly with 360 videos sorry

360° videos in virtual tours are different, make sure you set up an alternative low res file for that. Safari is crappy: http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/vie ... patibility

I'm not convinced that it's a browser issue.

It never occured that I have to do it for every single change.
When I work with krpano a simple reload of the pano works just fine. I use Firefox and Chrome, both with latest versions and in both it's the same annoying behaviour.

It's possible that the issue is more prominent in Panotour 2.5 because the HTML5 player is used first which is javascript based, whereas in previous versions it was the Flash player that was displayed first, which was... well, flash based, and these are handled differently by browsers.

The proposed solutions are, disabling caching (which doesn't always work), using the private browser window, or various extensions cache emptying extensions.
