360 spherical video 'inside' a 360 pano

by 42VR » Wed Oct 21, 2015 5:57 pm

i want to embed a 360 video ‘inside’ the panorama tour itself.
so when you view the panorama…you see the the 360 video in a player window as normal…but it is embedded in the panorama image…so that when you move around the panorama, the 360 video player moves in and out of sight, depending on where in the pano you are looking.
anyone can put a regular video inside a panorama and have it play with PTP.
anyone can produce a 360 panoramic video and have it play by itself.
but i want to combine the two…360 panoramic video (fully navigable) embedded inside the panorama.
can PTP do this?

i put a 360 spherical video on Kolor Eyes, and tried using the URL in the PTP video embedder like i would with a Youtube video, but it won't work or show or play.
i just get errors along the bottom of the screen.
the errors only appear after i click on the play icon where the 360 video is embedded.

can anyone help to figure this out?
is this even possible?
seems like the logical next step...

thx,

randy

PTP 2.5 can do that, using the web content spot (it's like a picture spot but to display web content) and then use the embed url for kolor eyes/youtube.

Here i've used the Noa Neal 360 music video- http://eyes.kolor.com/video/bd9a95b579e ... e0180daea0

just to show the distortion ;)

No idea but I haven't seen many reports on the forum for crashes, and you can still at least give it a go. :)

ok, it works just great!
i guess with the trial, there is no way to make the Kolor branding go away?
i could really use this for a current project...but it's useless with all the Kolor logos...

No there aren't many limitations to the trial versions but the watermarkes everywhere is one of them.
No way to get rid of them unless you get a licence for v2.

is this what you mean?

http://store.kolor.com/licence-marque-b ... pro-2.html

would getting this get rid of the Kolor logo branding in 2.5 beta 3?
it says it's for getting rid of the contextual menu branding, but will it work for the logos when a PTP is generated in 2.5 beta?

thx

No you need a licence for the software - http://store.kolor.com/virtual-tour/panotour-pro.html
Getting that licence gives you access to every 2.x version (2.3 is the current stable, you can unlock the beta and use it when it's stable too with the same key)

The branding free licence is only for the contextual menu.

i have a license for 2.3.2.
so, i put in the 2.x license for the beta?
i guess it doesn't 'see' it automatically like a regular upgrade then?

Yes you can definitely use your 2.3.2 licence.

It doesn't count as an "upgrade" yet because it's not a stable version yet.

any idea how to position the video (on Kolor Eyes video site), so that only the video shows in the window, and not all the other parts of the webpage it is on?
looks stupid...need to have just the video in the window.

thx,

btw, it works great with no branding...but for some reason doesn't work well in Safari...seems to like Firefox better!

Did you use the embed link and not the fullpage link?

i copy and paste either the link embed code.
the link code gives me the webpage with player on it.
the embed code generates an error...doesn't even load the pano.

Not the embed code, just the link, which would be ... for my example video, i got:

<iframe src="http://eyes.kolor.com/video/i/kolor/bd9a95b579eb5859c8d07fe0180daea0" type="text/html" width="800" height="450" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen="true"> </iframe>

the link is : http://eyes.kolor.com/video/i/kolor/bd9 ... e0180daea0

when i use the link code, i get the full web page, not just the video.
see attached pics as i scroll down on the web page from within the web content plugin.
how do i get just the video like you have shown?

thx

See my previous post.

the embed url is different from the video page url , you will find it in the middle of the embed code.

Add the video ID (the long weird code in the url) to the end of this: http://eyes.kolor.com/video/i/kolor/BLABLACODEHERE

ok...that is exactly the same as what clicking the 'link' button gives me!
why is that going to give me a different result?
if i paste that string in, i'll get the same result...the whole webpage...not just the video...

?

The link button links to the page, if you have a look at the structure, you'll see "eyes.Kolor.com/video/VIDEO-ID". if you have a look at the one I showed you, you get " eyes.Kolor.com/video/i/kolor/VIDEO-ID"

It's not the same. One page only gives you the player+video, the other is an entire page. Use the embed link to get what you want.

It's exactly the same method for YouTube, they provide a different link for embedding, if you access that link directly you get a full page video...
