Hi, I downloaded to try Panotour Pro 2.3 on 32 Want to load a panorama. It loaded. But when click on panorama to work with it, crash; the panotour shut down...no message, nothing. For 32 don't works?
1/ Open Panotour Pro 2.3 2/ Close Panotour Pro 2.3 (this Open/Close will force creation of registry parameters) 3/ Open the registry using command "regedit" 4/ Find the key named "HKEY_USERS\[...]\Software\Kolor\Panotour Pro 2.3\view\3d_autoload" 5/ The value of this key is set to "true". Double click on it and set it to false. 6/ Then re-start PTP
The 3D view of the selected panorama will be black and will contain a button asking if you want to load the 3D view. Click on this button, and tell us what happens then.
I made all you saied. Same result. In regedit the value=false. When load a panorama, the panorama it look normal. But, when click on it to work with it, bluf....the panotour shut down...
Sorry, I am not sure to understand. You set "3d_autoload" to false, and you were not able to select a panorama ?
Did you really close Panotour before modifying the registry ? Panotour Pro should be closed before doing it.
3d_autoload set to false, should disable the 3D view and so allow you to skip the crash that happens on it. It does not fix the crash, it just avoids it.
Is it possible to make this test on you 32bits PC ?
- Open PTP 2.3 - Load a panorama and don't click on it. - Save project as "testProject.kpt" - Close PTP 2.3 - Open regedit and go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Kolor/Panotour Pro 2.3/view/ - double click on 3d_autoload and set it to false value - Close regedit - Load the "testProject.kpt" file and once loaded click on the panorama. Is it working ?
basically I work on my tour at my office PC, but when I tried to do some tests during the evening at home I ran into the same troubles: PTP2.3 works fine on 64Bit (Windows 7 Home Premium, 12 GB RAM) but crashes on 32Bit (Windows Vista Home Premium, SP2, 4 GB RAM) with the same project: all you need to do is to open a project an click on a panorama. What I figured out by now is that this happens only when the "Properties" window is open. So closing the "Properties" window before you click on the panorama will avoid that crash and you can at least use the Hotspot-Editor. But in the moment you try to reopen the Properties window via the menu bar PTP crashes again. So it looks to be a bug somewhere in the Properties window.
I got no option to create or save a crash report, only a Microsoft Windows MessageBox tells me "Panotour Pro does not work anymore". After confirming that MessageBox a Windows System Tray notification appears telling me that PTP was closed by the Data Execution Prevention to ensure safety for the PC.
And finally, look how weird the Property window looks like right after the crash (see attchment).
Furthermore, the same kind of crash occures after you added a Simple Button. The moment you try to set the Action for this button to "Basic.Go to panorama/group" PTP dies. All other Actions might be chosen without crash, I have tried all of them.
Last but not least, I also executed the test sequence you described for marbotrade at the very beginning of this thread (3d_autoload=false) but neither this worked for me: PTP crashed the same way as described above and reported by the others.
My only installed version of PTP is this v2.3, but I have Autopano Giga installed in versions 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5
If you need some further tests to be done you can address me.
Thanks. In fact the problem seems to be the 3D preview into properties, but the trick should solve the issue so we are investigating on the whole problem.
