Web Box plugin and Video Box Plug in causing crashes!

by Aaron Eriksson » Wed Apr 30, 2014 3:37 am

Hello,
I have updated to the latest version.
Wind 8.1

I want to 1 display a website in the web box plugin (which worked in previous versions for me fine.) same with the video box.
After I get the plug in activated (either one) I try to set the action of a graphic icon button to open the plug in and the project crashes.

HELP...

That is strange.. The Website Box is stable..

Do you use a custom html template.. ??

What I suggest you try is remove all website box plugin you have used.. Remove all links to that hotspots and buttons buy removing the buttons and hotspots you have links and from the pano itself.. Then add a new website box with a new name and relink to a hotspot or button providing the urls again.. Then add your hotspots to your pano and and link again... I realise that this might be a pain but if it still crashing then the issue will be far deeper... Was a crash report generated..

Aaron,

When does the crash occurs ?
When you click on the "OK" button of the action chooser frame ?

Or when you try to build the tour?

Did you upload a crash report ?

The crash occurs when I click the OK. for both methods. Meaning for the video and the web box both at the ok selection.
Yes I have filled out crash reports probably 5 yesterday.

Aaron

You might have a corrupted PTP file. Once this occurs its best to give up on it and start again..

Try this: Create a test Pano with a website box/video box, and see if you still get a crash...

I thought the same so I tested that yesterday with a blank after downloading the update. Still crashed. So I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still crashed. I will try once more.

Also to note. I have been registered, but the new version is NOT remembering my registration. I am now having to register again since last night.

If you unistall the software before installing a new version you will have to enter the license key again.

Can you describe in detail - preferably with screenshots - the process you are following that results in the crash so we may try to replicate it.

Guys, I am in a studio with huge production. I don't mean to be unflexible but it would be easier to show you by sharing my screen. and would be like 3 min if you take a link that can send. Making screen shots when i followed and have been following the above screen shots will take time. Especially when I follow what was has been told me over and over. If you insist then I will stop and do it but It will show the same as the earlier shots. Sorry.

I don't think there's much point in my getting more involved. I am on Windows and you are on Mac. And I cannot reproduce the fault you report.

Perhaps someone from Kolor dev. team with a access to a Mac system can do some screen sharing with you.

Ok. So to repeat my offer, and I am just the customer in a bind here, I can demo the crash for you over a shared screen. Or do you wish to forward the issue to a different team member?

Aaron...

You will probably have to wait fo the Kolor Administrator to check out your Chrash Reports..

What you might try is to build a dummy test with a single low rez pano, add a Website Box linked to a hotspot with url.. Save As and ZIP the entire project and send it to me.. I will check your project.. If it does not crash on my system as you reported it, then you might have a hardware issue...

Question. ... Have you Ever been able to add a Website Box.. Have you had any Other issues with PTP during the build..

You can send your files to dps@westnet.com.au
