Video Plugin and Web site box Plug ins NOT WORKING!

by Aaron Eriksson » Tue Apr 29, 2014 5:18 pm

I don't mean to be negative but I am frustrated. I pulled in both the Website box plugin and the video plugin, in the effort to display a full size youtube video. The moment I try to set the hotspot button of a video camer icon the project crashes.

Folks. Please get this program fixed. Overall it is great but there are still basic bugs that have not been resolved. Especially the program not keeping the cursor in the point of view settings.

So how can I display a video for a site using the GUII and not coding it in?

I don't understand what you are trying to do when yoi say "I pulled in both the Website box plugin and the video plugin, in the effort to display a full size youtube video. The moment I try to set the hotspot button of a video camer icon the project crashes."

What is 'the video plugin'?

You can have a video hotspot, but that's a quite different thing from a hotspot that opens a Web video box.

A video hotspot cannot display a YouTube video, only a Web video box can display a YouTube video.

Right. So I am using a custom graphic as the link. the steps I am taking.

1 import the icon into my library.

2. under the style tab, and viewers tab I activate either the webvideo box plub in or the website viewer box plug in.

Fine so far no crashing.

Then I take the actions on the graphic to activate the respective plugin. That is the moment it crashes. The only way it doesn't crash is when I use a basic "open a website" action which is NOT what I want to do. I used to be able to do this, but now can't. I do have the latest updated version.

I use a slightly different workflow that works fine as illustrated in screenshots below:

Which version of PT/PTP are you using and on which OS?

Is the tour you are working on a tour originally created with your current versioin of PT/PTP or an earlier version?

I am using PTP 2.1 RC164-bit on Windows 8.1 Pro.

Windows 8.1 home
PTP 2.0.1
Yes it is a tour fresh with latest version. Previous version did the same.

No Problem. I know you volunteer. But I need a tech to email me back or help me get through this asap. Do you know if there is a ticket I can report?

I wonder why what I do works for me then?

Are you sure you followed the process I did?

I never added my custom graphic to the library - I chose a non-library graphic.
