In the panorama field, hardware is also part of the success. You can discuss here about it: camera, computer, pano head, anything

These guys http://video.airpano.com/Video-Manhatta ... al-en.html use a rig with 4 5D2 equipped with a fisheye each.
This surely is the best way for achieving high quality.

Have a look to their gallery - it´s impressing! Of course you need VERY much money to produce this kind of material.

Klaus

PS: but for 360x180 i would opt for a GoPro Rig of 6 cameras: http://www.360heros.com

The quality of course isn´t not as good as with the 5D2 rig - but it isn´t bad at all!

nice Scenes. indeed. but if you look at the NY low res versions you can see massive stitching Errors in Special at the heli skids.
if you look the NY high res Version you can see the massive Errors also down on the roads.
so I think theres a lot of space for improvements...

Of course! That would surely be the best option for 360video. In the end it´s not only the price gap - it´s the postpro effort: you get VERY large files from a 5D3 using RAW-video . . .

best, and have a fine new year with your new Panoneed! :)
(did you receive it already? I talked to Josef last week and he was about to send it)
