For some reason I have not been able to find the file location where the default presets are stored in Windows 7. I do have access to all Application Data folders, both in my administrator login folder and other user folders but cannot find where the default custom presets are located. I would like to remove the default presets and import only those presets applicable for my system. Is it possible to do this?

Thank you in advance for any assistance answering this question.

Kind regards,

M. Wheeler
(using the new Orion AutoTracker mount that is compatible with the older Merlin/Orion command set)

Many thanks. Yes, this is the file location where I also found the "presets.xml file. I suppose I was searching in the User folders per the Papywizard 2 documentation and for some reason I never searched elsewhere.

I very much appreciate your prompt and accurate response.

Warmest regards...

The documentation may pre-date Windows 7.

.....

I'm located not so far from Haverhill in the 'Old World'.

Again, awfully kind of you to solve this problem for me. My last name is Wheeler which, I am told, is a Welsh name. My life long desire is to visit the UK and see Isaac Newton's birthplace in Woolsthorpe Manor near Grantham. Perhaps some day I will manage to do this along with a visit to Wales where my ancestors once lived.

All the best from the New World....

Note that this dir is the one in the Papywizard package: it will be overwritten when you update Papywizard. Also, this is not here that Papywizard will save the changes in the configuration.

Don't know where this damned file is under W7... I use an env var to point this location, and it may have changed under W7...

Merci... With the help of another member I found the preset file in the \Program Files\Papywizard\papywizard\Common folder under my User folders. I was able to copy the original (default) presets.xml file (to save it), then modify a copy and replace the default presets file. In this manner I am able to install my own custom presets without having to import them. The advantage, of course, is that terminating the Papywizard application and restarting same retains the default preset files.

Warm regards,

Michael
