FOVTYPE

by jschrader » Sun Oct 13, 2013 12:13 am

I'm missing a seetting for FOVTYPE.
How is this handled in PTP 2.0?
The FOV of the trours looks awful on widescreen monitors.

Currently PTP2 "does not manage" FOVTYPE, we use the default value of krpano : VFOV
But yes I agree, when opened on widescreen, the effects are too strechy on left and right borders.
I opened a feature request on this matter, but we have to test if an automatic value (like MFOV) un-settable thru PTP can be set.
We want to avoid the settings of such advanced parameters in PTP's GUI.
Or we have to find a user-friendly way to set it.

I think that's the better approach than ignoring the issue of forcing people to hack the XML.

I use MFOV almost all the time with krpano and never had any problems.
But of course this is a limited experience and it is preferred to adjust this important setting.
