Full resolution ipad Tour (for offline use) - how?

by frank007 » Fri Jun 28, 2013 7:36 am

Good morning,
on of my costumers needs an offline virtual tour for his iPad. Therefore I need the same quality like the desktop version. But on mobile devices the quality is reduced. How can I change that?
Thank you and best regards from Germany!

Frank,
The best way to create what you need is an eBook widget in the build part of ptp, then (if you use a mac) with the help of iBook Author you can make it into an eBook and view it offline in full res

Also its always great to go to search and search for this topic, you will be surprised on how much useful information you can get out of older topics and posts :)

Cheers
Alex

The easiest way - the iPad user should use the app "html books".

You don´t need to be on a Mac - you can make it with Win:

1) Make a folder with the name of the tour and give it a name you want - "xxx"
2) In the folder duplicate the "tour.html"
3) Name it "index.html".
4) Zip the folder and put it on your webspace

When an iPad-user using "htmlbooks" clicks the URL "xxx.zip" the folder *automatically* will install the tour in html book´s bookshelf.

From that moment on you can watch the tour offline on the iPad using the app: "html-book-reader"

It´s dramatically easy and nobody needs to have any knowledge or skills to do it. Many of our clients use it.

best, Klaus

Did not know this klaus. This is awesome news. I was under impression I can only export it from my iBook Author!

Thanks.
