For real, DON'T set it to sub 1° values!  You head will go out of control and not stop moving sometimes.  If this is a pitch movement, you could easily damage the camera or head before you stopped it.  I accidentally set it too small and my head went crazy

Do you mean the T&C controller? It´s got nothing to do with PapyWizard besides of using the same xml-data-structure for importing and positioning images in APG.
The speed which the T&C controller provides is higher than the one using PW on a Nokia - but it can be still improved by a firmware-update of rthe head. Focal-lenghts longer than 105mm use only the "fine" modus becaus the distances are too small to change from "fast-to-fine" on every shot.
Below 105mm - at 85mm for example - it´s quite fast anyway.

So if you use longer than 105mm lenses you should upgrade your Merlin´s firmware.

I´m not sure you meant the T&C controller when you wrote "TouchCP" in combination with PapyWizard.

So IF you mean the T&C controller i can ask Josef (the developer) to hang in here - which would be a good idea anyway i mean . .

He does - or at least the version of it marketed by Kolor, and SkiVR, under the Panogear brand/banner.

There's no reason for such purchasers to be aware of the source (T&C - http://www.typeandcolour.de/ ) of the Touch Controller, the Lithium Ion battery power system or the custom dovetail rail.

So Mamoo is probably mystified by your reference to the T&C controller.

But how do the benefits of that constant development and so on reach Panogear Touch Controller customers?

I guess contacting Kolor - but Josef also is quite communicative. Don´t know what Josef and Kolor agreed to handle this.

A problem is that he´s not the manufacturer of the head - he just developes and builds the controller. Though of course he has a good understanding of the head there may rise issues when the manufacturer of the head makes changes on motors or firmware and so.

A word on firmware-update on Merlin: afaik it works only via the merlin´s serial port - which is a very "special" one.
So you´d need an adapter to use either USB-->>Adapter-->>Merlin, SERIAL-->>Adapter-->>Merlin or    MAYBE a Bluetooth-->>Adapter-->>Merlin to run a firmware upgrade on Merlin.

Fact is: the new firmware - i guess it is "020 781" - makes the Merlin about 2-3 times faster!

BUT as mentioned before: how can customers feed the Merlin with that upgrade . .

Trials are ongoing for the upgrade of the Merlin to 02.07.81.
But this can only be done on Merlin V2 (not the V1)
The firmware update can be done without problems with the "circulating" USB to TTL adaptors (= wired connection) !!!

Merlin V1 is name used for all Merlin with Firmware 01.##.##.
Those are equiped with a different Motor controler board (other Microprocessors then the V2)

Merlin V2 is used for all Merlin with Firmware 02.##.## (new Motor controler board with other Microprocessors then the V1)

We have get a warning from Synta (the manufacturer) to avoid the upgrade of Merlin V1 with Firmware  02.##.## and
"vice versa" !

Kolor and SkyVr are more and more in contact with the manufacturer and that's good for our community .
