Re: Parallax A7eng eb500-SER Interface

big_smile Very good news!

Trossen Robotics has come through! Just received my replacement eb500, which they kindly tested before shipping. Plug and play! Worked instantly out of the box with Papywizard on Nokia N800!! The Skywatcher/Merlin follows all commands perfectly moving the head in all directions and with pre-sets. I will send defective eb500 back to Trossen and they indicated they would test the board and report back to me with the cause of failure if they can detect why.

Cheers,
Joel

Re: Parallax A7eng eb500-SER Interface

Joel,

Before I could reply you see to have edited out the bit about connecting the camera.

I believe the K10D supports a wired remote so you should be able to connect with a cable rather that needing the Gentles-JUMP IR device.

Re: Parallax A7eng eb500-SER Interface

Doh! Yes, I thought the K10D only had IR capability. It indeed has both wire and IR. That's what I get for not reading manuals. wink As you noticed, I edited out my comment, re: GentLED. Thank you Andrew.

Re: Parallax A7eng eb500-SER Interface

I received my replacement module today...still no luck.  Same issue.  I'll call tomorrow and see if I can get a clear answer if the original was deffective or they just sent a new one?  Either way ...annoyed.

Their UK partner does not list the item on their web site.

I have emailed them to ask if they stock it; and if not, why not.

What was the end of this story ?

Don't buy one of thsoe.

If you want to purchase a reliable Bluetooth adapter for your Panogear/Merlin/Orion mount with Papywizard then get this one from here:
