I ordered the customized Bluetooth to Serial Adapter kit from Tronisoft on January 5. My Paypal was debited immediately and I got an order confirmation email from them. I am surprised that I haven't received it yet (as of January 19), since it was in stock according to their site and the $13.75 shipping charge should have paid for a decent shipping method. I have tried twice to contact them via email about the order and got no response.
So: what has been the experience of others regarding shipping time? Especially if you (like me) are in the USA?

John,
There used to be a telephone contact numbers on their web site - both mobile and landline. I see they are not there now.
But I found this number (elsewhere) on the Web if you wish to try and contact Tronisoft by phone.
International dialling: +44-118-907-6258 Within UK: 0118-907-6258

I have one on order too. It was ordered on the 16th with shipping being within the UK. I haven't heard anything yet.
The say for standard UK delivery please allow 5 days tho! But it's fustrating because my Merlin is sat here waiting!

I guess it is a race to see whether the head or Tronisoft gets here first for me. I ordered both on the same day. I knew the head would be slow as they quoted a long time before it drop-shipped from the warehouse. I couldn't complain, since I got it for US$165 with free shipping! From this supplier (telescopes.com), it is called the SkyWatcher Multifunction Mount, but it is the same thing as the Orion or Merlin. The Tronisoft kit is about $60 shipped to the US and I got a never-used Nokia 770 for $60 shipped. That means I have managed to assemble the whole apparatus for $285! I am really having trouble being patient for everything to get here!!
Gigapixels, here I come!

John,
What camera/lens are you planning to use on the Merlin with Papywizard?

I ordered my kit from Tronisoft on 21st December, I later enquired re delay and was advised they would check if parcel was missing in post, if so they would resend, I have heard nothing from them since. Now they do not answer emails including a complaint I logged on their site.

I will be using a Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 on a Fuji S2 Pro and maybe a 200mm and shorter depending on what I am doing.

Now, that is discouraging! I am hoping some folks speak up with stories of SUCCESS at getting their Tronisoft.

Sorry, also no success for me: I ordered from Tronisoft on Nov 20th and paid immediately.
A first shipment allegedly was not deliverable and came back to them.
Since then: No more answers to my emails, no re-shipment.

I've tried to ring them today - just get an answering machine.
I've mailed them to see if that works any better. It looks somewhat worrying to me at the moment.

At least I now know there is someone alive at Tronisoft! Being a little devious, I thought it was more likely that I would get a response if I sent an email to "sales@tronisoft.com" instead of support, etc. I simply said "Can I ask someone a sales/shipping question?", which really is honest, right? In only a few hours, I received a response:
"Hi,
What is the question.
Best regards,
Noz"
Now that I have a real, live person responding, perhaps I will get a followup to the detailed question I sent back to Noz.
Looking more hopeful ![]()

I already sent an email to them; about the possibility to ship the kit "4201 PAPPY" to US... and, as many of you guy they even respond... so, that why I didn't place the order with them, and, now I'm not able to communicate between orion and pappywizard...

Hi Frederic,
Hi all ....
Andrew and myselve are trying very hard to come in contact with TRONISOFT ...
I personally get my latest contact with them about end of December, beginning of January; but actually all contacts are broken !
Andrew (as he live in the UK) is trying very hard to get contact also and to collect a maximum of informations on TRONISOFT .... he collect really a maximum of informations but don't get any contacts.
Considering the situation, what we suggest is in any case to :
"STOP ANY NEW ORDERS TO TRONISOFT"
And this till we get contacts again !
I have personnaly had a HDD crash and not yet recuperate all the Email adresses of all persons who buy a kit from Tronisoft ...
Can we ask to all of you to inform us inside this post:
- who has the kit now and if they can use it
- who has a "pending" order with the date of placing the order
We will try to hold you informed with "fresh" subsequent informations.
Alternative to the Tronisoft exists ! we will try to summarize them, with info's on the skills needed to put in operations ...
Let me some time to do that...
Claude and Andrew

"STOP ANY NEW ORDERS TO TRONISOFT" I hope that this is not a permanent situation!!!!
I have successfully received my BT and RS232 to TTL in Mid December 08, both are fully functioning.

This module will not work with Merlin as it stands because it lacks the onboard power regulator/supply that the Tronisoft 4201/4207 module has, which allows us to power the 4201/4207 and the BTlink RS232-Bluetooth adapter via the cable from the Merlin head.
It appears to be a Tronisoft 4202:

It seems to be exactly the same product as Tronisoft one!!! But without the 5V regulator (but there is the place to put it)...

IMO it IS the Tronisoft 4202:

They only have 2 in stock. I suggest they may be a reseller of the Tronisoft module?
