Paul, it seems that your maemo version does not suffer from this bug.
Paul has same version of OS2007HE installed as I do, and Claude does, and Frank does - version 4.2008.7-1.

I uploaded a 'i' release, which should also work for everybody. Please confirm, and I will don't touch the glade file anymore...
Nokia 770:OS2007HE version 4.2008.7-1.
Installed 'i' over the top of 'h'.
It works fine - no File menu problems on 770.
......
Nokia N800:OS2008 version 5.2008.43-7
Installed 'i' over the top of 'g'.
No problems on N800 EXCEPT that Credits and Licence buttons don't work in About dialogue.

It is just a second verification for the File menu crash, to be sure to release the correct version.

Hey, that's a way to dig...
Could you all retry the h release (which should crash), and change the default language of your 770? First try german, as I think it is the one Paul uses, and which seems to work...

File menu worked for me from 'g' onwards with language set to UK English.
I think you have to go back to 'f' to be sure it will crash on File menu.
It was with 'f' that Paul ssid the File menu worked but it didn't for everyone else.
Unless the 'h' you have linked from the Wiki now is not the same 'h' as before?

g and i should be the same, and should work for everybody, whatever the language is (that's what you reported). h has the Ctrl-q key binding, and should crash for all of you, except Paul (if I'm correct). So, try this version and switch to german. Also try other languages...
I'm sorry to bother you with all these tests, but my 770 is out-of-order...
Andrew, I didn't change the previous versions...

Oops I forgot - you took the ctrl-Q binding out with 'g' and put it back in 'h'.
I installed 'h' over 'i' and File menu crashes the program with both UK English and German language settings.
Let's just be happy that 'i' works and let history be history?

Well, I asked on several mailing lists about this problem, so I would like to help developpers to understand...

OK.
I tried:
English UK
English USA
German
Spanish (Spain)
Danish
Italian
Dutch
in every case File menu crashes the program with 1.5.6h-1.
Want me to test any more languages?

Good to hear from you Gordon,
Are talking about 1.5.6i?
.............
Don't feel too concerned about V2 losing support for 770.
Papywizard 1.x is now a very complete system for most robotic pano head users shooters. V2.x new features - most of which it appears will demand a laptop type level of 'compute power' - will I feel tend to appeal only to a minority of the small population of robotic pano head users.
For most users of robotic pano heads a wireless handheld host platform will be preferred I think and there is (as yet) no suggestion that support will be dropped for the Nokia N800/N810/and successor Nokia Tablets as a 'basic level' V2.x host platform.

Papywizard v2 will not be released before some weeks, as I need to rewrite all the GUI part. So, it is possible I update the 1.x branch to support the Panoduino-like panohead I plan to build...

Frederic has put the latest dev. release of Papywizard 1.5.6f-1 on the Trac Papywizard Wiki for Nokia Tablets and for Windows:
http://trac.gbiloba.org/papywizard/#Dev … entversion
He hopes this will be the last development version before the imminent release of the 1.6.0-1 stable version.
1.6.0-1 will be the last version of Papywizard before a radically redeveloped V2.x which will be some time in development and which will NOT run on the Nokia 770 Tablet.
So this is our last chance to report bugs or request changes to the 1.x branch of Papywizard software development.
Please report both the successful running of the software on your platform, and any bugs/faults encountered.
In particular, in you run 1.5.6f-1 on a Nokia 770 please check that the File menu is operational.
Hi pals!
I installed 1.5.6i-1 and it rund well on my N800

Hi Klaus,
Please can you check and report whether the Licence and Credits buttons work in the Help/About dialogue.

Dialog closes - log says: "Spy:info:starting Spy . . . " That´s all.

Thanks. Yes, that is how it behaves on my N800 too.

hi mediaverts, I was just pining over the fact that I have recently purchased a N770 only to discover that it's no longer going to be supported
No ones fault really, I suppose I'll have to upgrade at some point in the future in any case.
I am planning to use the merlin mainly for Gigapixel images, V2 I don't really know too much about yet. I am now on the verge of ordering my merlin head
so should be up and running soon.

Gordon, don't worry, your 770 will be enough to run Papwyizard 1.6, and you will be able to shoot gigapixels panos. If mine hadn't broke, I would still use it on the field...
In fact, I think I will try to maintain the support of the 770, but only in the branch 1.x. I won't add new complex features, but will make some little modifications if needed (like the support for other panoheads, for example).

Hi fma38, this is good news to hear, I'm just hoping that my N770 does not follow the same fate as yours did and die on me!!! this level of support is really much appreciated by me and I'm sure by other members in the community. Coding must take a fair bit of your time. Maybe we should start a "support fma38 club"... ![]()
