I am sure that your new BT adaptor will work with Broadcomm/Widcomm BT Stack !
And how do I get that stack?

Claude and Frederic,
After considerable trial and (much) error, I now have the very tiny Bluenext BN-01 USB Bluetooth adapter (http://www.bluenext.co.uk/bluetooth-ada … ongle.html), which is widely sold on eBay and inexpensive, working with Papywizard 1.4.0-2 with both Windows 2000 Pro with SP4 and Windows XP pro with SP3.
I found that the Bluesoleil software supplied with the Bluenext BN-01 USB Bluetooth adapter was next to useless, at least for use with Papywizard. I followed the install instructions supplied with the adapter and installed the Bluesoleil software before plugging in the adapter.
It would not run on Windows 2000 pro with SP4 at all failing on load with an error message referring to an error log file that I never managed to find.
It did run on XP pro with SP3 and did 'see' the adapter, but Papywizard could not see the adapter.
The Broadcom Bluetooth update mentioned by Claude didn't work either.
BUT...here's how I got the Bluenext BN-01 USB Bluetooth adapter to work with Papywizard.
For Windows XP Pro with SP3:
I discovered, after removing the Bluesoleil software, that the adapter was automatically recognised by Windows XP when plugged in and it works fine (with Papywizard) with the standard default Microsoft Bluetooth device driver. Configure the Hardware in Papywizard as Bluetooth, and use Choose to find the RS232-BT adapter attached to the Merlin head (in my case a Tronisoft BTLink RS232-Bluetooth adapter)
For Windows 2000 Pro with SP4:
I first uninstalled the Bluesoleil software.
Then I searched the Web for possible driver software for USB devices based on the CSR Bluetooth chipset (because the BN-01 setup leaflet mentioned the CSR chipset) and tried several with no success.
Finally....I found one that worked - the WidcommV5 software that can be downloaded from the LM Technologies web site here (link near the bottom of the page):
http://www.lm-technologies.com/ci/index … details/42
Use the WidcommV5 software to setup a Bluetooth Serial Port.
In Papywizard Configure set Hardware to Serial (not Bluetooth!) and set the Serial port to a number one less than the Bluetooth serial port setup in the Widcomm software. In my case the Bluetooth serial port was assigned to COM11 so in Configure/Hardware the Serial port is set to 10 (Papywizard counts serial/COM ports from zero not from 1!).
It has taken me the best part of a working day to get this working - so much for plug-n-play - I hope these notes will save others some time.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you try to use the serial driver with the bluesoleil driver? It may have work too.
BTW, in teh serial port, you can either give the number (0=COM1...), or a string (COM1, /dev/ttyS0...).

No, it didn't occur to me to do that. And the Bluesoleil software didn't work with Windows 2000 Pro at all.

I think you may have told me that before and I had forgotten.![]()

I tried my BT adapter on a real XP pro system. I had to remove the Toshiba BT stack installed by default, and then all worked fine.

Hmmm......so default built-in BT support on Windows XP uses a Toshiba BT stack?
Interesting that my Bluenext BN-01 USB BT adapter will work fine (with Papywizard) with default built-in BT support on Win XP and your adapter would not.
Bluetooth seems to be a somewhat variable 'standard' at least at the hardware level? For something intended to facilitate 'plug-n-play' for consumers it seems to be remarkably tricky to set up sometimes. The theory is great but in practice...
Where do you find the BT stack, how do you identify which stack is being used, and how do you remove it if needs be?

The computer I used is at my work. I think that the Toshiba BT stack were installed by the computer service which delivered me the computer. I saw it in the application manager. I just removed it from here. Toshiba BT stack is not the default one. Once removed, I think that XP stack took over.
I also found that BT is really scrappy to use at dev. level!!!
