Yes, latest version of Pano2VR that I use to generate QT or Flash formats for on-line display of panos also has a new nadir patch feature, or one can limit the FOV at the nadir in the player - cos I'm lazy and not at all sure that the extra work needed to patch the nadir well adds that much to 360x180 panos, or not enough to justify the work if one is not being paid much.
If your customers have more skills the can take a handheld nadir ( often very difficult with interiors because of shutter speeds and longer expsoures needed) and patch the nadir in PS.
I agree that 99% of the time the nadir shot doesn't add much. I shoot with a camera and lens that has a 111 degree VFOV, and think that I get most of a room (but in small rooms I'll miss the corner of the bed that's closest to me, etc)
However, some high-end houses will have a decorative floor with some sort of fancy inlay. This would be the exception, you'd need the nadir shot, but the price of the shoot may justify taking one.
I heard several people speak of nadirs as if theyre very hard to patch, and say that a nadir patch would cost extra. How much extra would you charge for a patched nadir? I always patch it, otherwise I wont sleep well :] I use Gimp and Mathmap for that, but the new Pano2VR has an excellent patch tool... APP could use something like that, allowing us to export the selected area using a rectilinear projection and patch it back into the equirectangular pano (or whatever projection) once we fix it up.

Do you shoot many interior panos? If so do you shoot the nadir handheld?
