Hi Andrew, IT WORKS !!!
What a relief. I could go to a distance of about 12-14 meters , any further and would have fallen down in a deep gully ;-) But I would love to go further away up to 30 meters, will try that in the other section of our garden later. Interestingly that my Macbook Pro stopped communicating over BT at about 10m.
Amazingly this redundant Papywizard settings file in the Nokia N810 proofed to be so stronger and survive the complete re-flashing of the operating system.
So many thanks for helping me out , just in time for an exciting virtual tour I have to make of a local botanical garden.

Sorry to say but the "built-in" BT module in the MAC is of poor quality, this is a limiting factor !
You can use a external small BT Dongle "long range":

The BT module of the Nokia is much beter and can work for more then 30 meters. Some users have applications on top of mast till 30 to 40 meters working with Nokia's !

I 'm sure now that you are right about that MAC BT , tried it with another newer Powerbook Pro which was even worse, just 8 meters and it failed. Good to know that 30 - 40 meters Bluetooth communication with the NOKIA N810 is achievable. Coming days I will test it , Monday in that Botanical garden. The Papywizard Interface is really so good looking on the Nokia , my old heart is in a cheerful upbeat ;-)
