UDP

by Elie » Sun Mar 04, 2018 3:06 pm

Hi,
i managed to have basic control of the VR Player through Max/Msp using the UDP- JSON messages.
is there only this parameters that we can used :

"id": "ked" --- message identifier
"yaw": float --- yaw in radians
"pitch": float --- pitch in radians
"roll": float --- roll in radians
"fov": float --- field of view in degrees
"url": string --- current video url. For local files, ensure to respect this scheme according to OS :
Windows : "url":"file:///C:/Users/kolor/Videos/FullHD_25fps.mp4"
Mac : "url":"file:///Users/loic/Movies/FullHD_25fps.mp4"
"state": enum --- playback state, integer possible values are : 0 (StoppedState), 1 (PlayingState), 2 (PausedState)
"position": int --- current video playback position in milliseconds
"stereoMode" : enum --- stereoscopic mode, integer possible values are : 0 (no stereo), 1 (over under), 2 (side by side), 3 (over under inverted), 4 (side by side inverted)

Would be nice to have access to a play/stop (the state is not working here, i can paused but not playing again at the same position, need to restart video), volume, loop mode, ...

Cheers,
Elie

"state" should work to play/pause the player, you should also send the same value of "position" when you are paused and so the player will not update his position value.

Thank you for your feedback we will try to our best to fill your needs.

Thanks Martin, as i controled the VR player from another software, the VR players are in slave and doesn't return any position. Would be nice to have the communication UDP in both direction at the same time (or be able to activate one or the other).

thanks

For example to detect if someone is wearing the HMD (sensors are moving) and to put the player in secondary it's impossible. Would be really great to be able to activate in/out at the same time.

COMMUNICATION MODE
NONE
PRIMARY
SECONDARY
BOTH
