Cannot type into the Description Box

Hello all,

having a slight problem here. I cannot type into the Description box. It is greyed out. It doesn't matter if its Tour Description or Individual Image Description :(

-Your computer specs
Alienware R15, 16GB, Geforce 980M 4GB, 512 SSD, win10 x64

-Which version of the software you are using
Panotour Pro 2.5.1 x64

-How many images, what file format
35 images, JPG

-What plugins you are using
Alpo Sidebar

-Can you recreate the problem? (If you can, what is your precise workflow)
tried starting from scratch with 1 image, same issue, cannot type intot he description box
also tried on a win 7 pro machine (trial)

-Screenshots, we love those

Hello, and welcome to the forum,

Are you able to view/display the Web Map hotspot editor, or is that blacked out too?

Could you open the task manager (right click on your task bar > task manager > processes) and see if you have any QtWebEngineProcess.exe processes open? There should be several:

Hello Anis,

yes I can click/view/display the Web Map editor and I have about 8 QtWebEngineProcess processes open ( attached image)

Can you open the installation directory of Panotour Pro (PTP) ?

It should be something like this :
C:\Program Files\Kolor\Panotour Pro 2.5

Do you have a file called closure-library.rcc in it ?

If you don't have it, maybe your installation did not succeed completely.

Then can you try either to reinstall PTP or to unzip the following file in this directory :
closure-library.zip

It has that file.

i downloaded your file and overwrote the file. still didnt work

I also just uninstalled and reinstalled the program. still doesnt show

I also tried with a blank template, it still doesnt show

Can you try to disable Windows firewall temporary, re-start Panotour Pro, and tell us if the description field is displayed then ?

Maybe another software is using the same port as PTP, and this test will prove it or not.

no luck

disabled firewall and windows defender. also allowed panotour pro to pass through (allow) in firewall settings.


on a side note, I really appreciate and am amazed at teh help being received :D

Did you restart Panotour between these reinstals and disabling? Another user had the same issue as you, after reinstalling the closure-library file and restarting Panotour his issue was solved.

Hello Annis,

I have restarted the computer between reinstalls.

but I found out that it is something with Win10. In Win 7, I also deleted the Kolor Folder which is in My Documents and it worked in Win 7

in Win 10, I did the same thing, uninstall, delete all folders, restart computer, reinstall, restart again, disable firewall and antivirus but stil the same isuue.. the description is still grey :(

This just happened to me after installing the update for PTP. Really not a good time either, I use this box for every tour and I have several that need created. Any ideas?

I downloaded your closure-library.rcc file and replaced mine with it. Now it works. The files were exactly the same size. Not sure what happened but it works who cares I can get back to work yay!

tried the new update 2.5.2.. that doesn't work either
tried replacing the closure-library.rcc file. that doesn't work either at least on my win 10 x64 machine .. It works on a win 7 x64 machine, but it not my laptop !

After a reboot and running PTP Its doing it again for me. Even replacing the .rcc file I can't get the description box to appear for me to type into, even though I've already given each pano a description. Very weird bug. Now its frustrating because I have to edit the descriptions in the messages_en.xml file. Any ideas?

Now i just renamed the "<tourname>_messages.en.xml" file. Ran PTP and the descriptions were back. So this may be a work-around or it may just be dumb random luck. But if someones having this problem they can try either deleting this xml file or renaming it. Then run PTP and re-build the tour. I seems random but who knows.

Happened again when I created a new tour. Tried deleting that file again and it didnt work. I killed a bunch of processes and it worked. I donno. Its pretty random.

I have tried all of the following mentioned here but still no progress NO Text Area in the Description Box ...
Does Kolor offer the ability to remote from their support center into my pc and see what is happening...

Okay,,, sound the trumpets... after a few too many hours of chasing my own tail and trying everything possible including what is mentioned in the blogs I made an amazing discovery.... worthy of a bottle or two of the finest French MOET
This problem is caused by the Windows PC Fonte Screen Size and if you adjust the actual screen font size you can create or remove the problem --Panotour only works with the setting of specifically the 100% size and If you go over it -- it simply blanks out the description field inside panotour and now with modern 4k screens that expands the text size inside the description fields ..your thoughts...simply try this out...for your self ...
