PTP 2.5 - Interface partly blacked out

by Arcon » Thu Jan 21, 2016 2:51 pm

Hi,
When I run PTP 2.5, the part of the tour screen that holds the panoramas are blacked out. So are the left and right part of the Style window, see attached screenshot. It seems the functions are there, but I cannot see them, as everything there is black, making it impossible to use. I am also running Autopano Giga, with no issues at all.

What could be the issue? I am running it on a virtual machine with 16 kernels and 32gb RAM, so should have plenty of power, but is noticably faster than my laptop, that doe snot have the issue, but then again, not the power either.

How to fix this issue?
Thanks,
Jake

Graphical drivers are up-to-date ?
Is it working with default theme (not the white one) ?
Which is the OS and version ?
Thanks.

Hi Benji,
The issue is the same with the default theme as well, also after restarting the software.
The OS is Windows 8.1 Enterprise, graphical/display adapter is VMware SVGA 3D and is up to date.
Thanks for your reply!
Jacob

Seems that the issue is linked to the graphical card of the VMware.
Is it Windows 8.1 VM ( VMware Fusion 7.1.2) ?

Hello again Benji,
Sorry for the late replies, I have beent travelling.
The system is running Windows 8.1 Enterprise, and the driver version of the VMware SVGA 3D is 7.14.1.2032

Hope this helps, thanks.

You seem to run Panotour in a virtual machine (VMWare). It is unsupported, the graphical card acceleration does not provide all routines needed.

Yes, I was indeed trying to run it on a virtual machine.
I guess there is nothing to do about it then, I'll have to run it locally instead.
Thanks!

Hi there,

I am experiencing the same problem in AVP / GP :(

As the rendering speed difference is quite drastic, would it be fine to arrange the project on a workstation, and then render the final project on the powerful VM? Using a single license, that is...
