Hi I am using Panotour V 2.1.3 and the software closes down when I try to Build a tour where the Point spot uses a custom color. I am working on a Mac with OS 10.9.3

This is my procedure:
1. In the Style window I select Default Point spot style
2. I select Custom color
3. I choose a color
4. I move to the Build window
5. set my output details and click BUILD
6. The software closes down.
7. If Instead I don't select to create a custom color the build process completes without any problems.

I have also tried Beta version 2.2 and I get the same crash

What can I do?
Thank you

Are you changing the colour of a Point spot style already associated with hotspots in the tour?

I cannot reproduce the problem with PTP 2.1.3 64-bits on Windows 7 Pro.

Can you upload a crash report using the crash reporter tool that is displayed after the crash ?

This crash report will allow us to check exactly where and when the crash occurs.
Then I'll be able to tell you if you can do something to avoid it, or if you have to wait for a bug fix.

Can you also send us a project file ?
Only the kpt file, not your original images.

Hi Mediavets,

I was originally changing the color of the spots before adding any spot to the panoramas in order to link them. Later I have also tried making the tour first, building it with no problem and then changing the color of the spots. This also crashes Panotour as soon as I click on the BUILD button.
thanks for trying to help.

I downloaded your project file, and I do not reproduce the crash with it.

Can you check the following?
Open the "Preferences" window of Panotour : menu "Edit/Preferences"
Can you verify that the temporary folder set in this window exists ?

Can you change this folder and set it to an existing new one ?
Then restart panotour, and try to colorize your spot .

I had this crash exactly as described about 7-10 days ago and sent up the crash dumps + description at the time of the crash so you should have this somewhere on file

Martin

btw I changed the location of the temp files in preferences as you suggested but it made no difference

Hi bdd

I have checked the existence of the temporary folder. I also created a new one and restarted panotour as you suggest. But I still cannot colorise the point without resulting on a crash at the moment of building the tour.
I must say I had this problem since I begun using Panotour early this year, with a Mac with Snow Leopard and now with mac laptop using the latest operating system.
Being pragmatic instead of raising the issue here, I simply dealt with the problem by replacing the generated PNG file inside of the spots folder. However now that you gave us the super useful offline Panotour viewer, if I desire to just run the tour offline on my computer, I have no more access to this PNG since the whole tour is packaged on the .PTV file

Which email did you use when you uploaded the crash dump with the crash reporter tool ?

Crash reports are really important when trying to understand the reason of a crash.
I do not find your e-mail in our reports, so perhaps you removed it or use another one ?

Hello,

I still can't find it.
Can you send it to contact@kolor.com ?

Look after this documentation to update manually the PNG image into the PTV file : http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/view/Panotour_Viewer_Documentation#ADVANCED

Hi Benjamin
That sounds great, thank you very much for your reply, but I am still having trouble.
I changed the file type from ptv to zip, then uncompressed the tour folder and had access to the spots folder. I changed the spot file. Re-compressed the tour folder back into a Zip, and finally changed the file type name back from zip to ptv.
When I try to play it on my chrome browser I get a simple message on the browser window that says ERROR.

Could it be the method that I use to compress the tour's folder? Using Mavericks on a Mac I just right click the folder and choose the menu item: compress "folder name"

Looking forward to your reply and thanks again.

Ludwig.

Forgot to mention that the when I unsuccessfully try to run the tour and get the message "error" on the browser window, I also notice that the url field shows an incomplete address.
It reads "localhost:31410" instead of "localhost:31410/test.html" for example.

Have you tried to do this ?

Rename .ptv file into .zip file.
Then open into a zip extractor software (don't extract !!!) and add your new file at the right place into the zip extractor software.
Then close the zip software and rename into .ptv

Never extract then compress after because your zip format will be different.
