Virtual Tour Opens TOO SLOW

I have a virtual tour of a museum on our website which contains 28 panoramas and 667 spots including image spots. When I open it using the following link, it opens too slow. I found that an xml file in the data folder is about 2MB.

My clients are complaining about loading speed. How can we have it load fatser?

Viewing the tour with Firefox on Windows XP/32 via a relatively low bandwidth (about 1.5-2Mbps at best) ADSL Net connection here in the UK I get to see the first panorama in about 40 seconds.

What sort of Net connection bandwidth does your client and typical/target audience have?

What sort of viewing performance do they experience and describe as 'too slow'?

What kind of performance do you expect or hope for?

I get to see the Splash screen in 30 seconds.

I do not know, I would expect maybe a progress bar that runs before the splash screen or the distribution of basic xml file (index.xml) into several smaller maybe.

Yes 8 sec before the splash screen and 20 seconds for full loading.
For the loader, it's difficult, because the XML file of your tour is 2 Mo ... and it's the black screen.
I have work on an HTML5 slashscreen which can be displayed before the load of XML.
But many tests must be done before apply it on the product.

These 20 seconds after the splash appears not a problem, the problem is just the black screen which depends also on your own computer that displays the tour.

I have 4Mbps connection and my experience is that I see the black screen for a long time. A loader during this blank black screen can be helpful for clients to tell them the tour is loading and that their own connection is slow. This way they wont complain to me. Please advise.

I also have the xml encrypted. Does this increases the file size? Or at least affects the loading time?

Normally, no changes for the loading time.

and will be at all the possibility of loading virtual tour faster? Last I checked generated in krpano tour and there I still had 400 panoramas, and krpano doing a separate xml file for each panorama tour is loaded immediately.

So what? Have the same problem: more than 1000 panoramas, xml is over 6Mb, loading time 16 seconds. What a hell?

In the actual way Panotour can't split the main xml file.
Perhaps the split of the Project into many others with deep linking to merge them on some spots for instance ?
