Gigapixel sharpness in Panotour  [SOLVED]

by Omni VR » Tue Apr 24, 2018 8:13 am

We have made a gigapixel photo. The output which came from APG was good. After rendering it in Panotour the quality/sharpness became less. We have tried with multi resolution and quality 12. How can we fix this?

If the image is not spherical (equirectangular, 360x180) then newer versions of PTP will use the later versions of krpano which do not use Adobe Flashplayer for high resolution

You will only get html5 graphics at the resolution of the cube faces which is noticeably lower than Flash

There are workarounds to solve this resolution issue discussed in earlier threads mostly based around generating the image as full 360 x180 in APG then using PTP cropping to suppress the display of the blank sections

If your images ARE ALREADY 360 x180 the above comments will not apply and there will be a different explananation to the issue you have noted

If you're using Panotour standard version (not Pro version), the software will limit the image size to 200 MP max no matter what size you input for processing. This will result in loss of details and pixelation in some areas, unfortunately.

Thank you for your replies! The method of Martin worked, by making it a 360 panorama now the multi resolution is working.
