Automatically closing description on closing image

by architeuthis » Mon Mar 19, 2018 4:03 pm

I have a tour where I am displaying images when a hotspot is pressed. The description pops up when the image shows up, but I would like it to close when the image closes. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to program this. I have tried all the options on the description plugin and cannot recreate this behavior. I would think it would be the desirable mode to be as default.

Here's a link to the tour http://www.3dimodels.com/Boca Raton Resort/Boca Raton Resort.html

Thanks for the help.

Juan

The "description" and the "image"-plugins are not tied together in that way, so there is no GUI option to achieve that.
But you can add the code to close the description box to the action that actually closes the image, look for the action called "applyDisplayedImageObjectAnimation" in the "index_skin.xml"-file.

Thank you for your reply @360-compunics-com-ni and sorry if I am new to this. What is the code that needs to be added? is that something your hotspot action list plugin can accomplish?

The action to close the description box is called "closeKolorArea_description", so you can add the code as follows: "closeKolorArea_description();"
But this only works with the first instance of the description plugin, if you have several plugin instances their names and action-names get appended a suffix number, starting with "1", so it might also be "closeKolorArea_description1();"
This would be a general modification working on all images, not an assignment to individual hotspots.
Please also note that manual modifications get overwritten when the tour is re-build, to have it permanent a custom plugin would be required.
Maybe instead of showing an image plus a description box you can show a description box having text and image at the same time? There are explanations of doing so in this forum, for example: http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=31427#p181998
Another option would be to show a websitebox having the info and the image.
