The project dissapeared

by afibeto » Mon Mar 19, 2018 11:20 am

I was working on a big project for days... yesterday, when i finished, saved it as usual and... now when i was going to reopen it the project is in blank

Curious thing is that the .kpt file weights 24 kb BUT the .cache file up to 90Mb! so... it looks like the project is still there... somewhere...

Can i recover my project somehow? Here i attach the two files

todoboda.com/media/TrypGijon.kpt
todoboda.com/media/TrypGijon.cache

Thank you

Hello,

The TrypGijon.kpt file you shared with us, contains only the default settings of any project.
But it does not contain any scene, or any plugin.

That's why it appears empty, when you re-open it.

We can't recreate a project file (a kpt file) from a cache file, that contains the previews of the scenes, and the path of the generated tiles .

So, I am really sorry to say, that we can't do anything to recover your work in this project.

What we have to understand know, is the reason of this major issue.
You said you saved the project after it's edition.
So either the save did nothing at all, or Panotour Pro crashes while the save was processing .

1/ Did you see any window reporting a crash of Panotour Pro?
2/ Did you save your project "after" closing Panotour Pro ? I mean did you close Panotour, and then answered "OK" to the question "Your project was modified do you want to save it" ?

3/ Did you save multiple times during the edition or only one single time when finishing the project ?

To avoid such terrible issue, I would recommand to check the option "Save a backup file on each save" .
http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/vie ... es#General
Each time you save the project a copy will be made of this file.
So if a save fails, you can rely on the previous version of the project, and not have to re-do all the work .
