Hello all,

I’m struggling to display an Video Spot using Firefox on a device...
I’ve found this SOLVED post, dating from 2016. http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... ox#p188683

I tried it out but no success.
Is there anyone who knows, if since the last version of PTP the edition of ‘videourl’ have changed?

Here my edited lines if needed
Code: Select all
<hotspot name="spotvideo12" videourl="%FIRSTXML%/spots/video-angkor.mp4|%FIRSTXML%/spots/video-angkor.webm|%FIRSTXML%/spots/video-angkor.ogv" devices="desktop" onunsupported="trace('not supported');" />
<hotspot name="spotvideo12" videourl="%FIRSTXML%/spots/video-angkor.mp4|%FIRSTXML%/spots/video-angkor.webm|%FIRSTXML%/spots/video-angkor.ogv" devices="tablet.or.mobile" onunsupported="trace('not supported');" />

Thanks
Julien

PTP 2.5.9

As the two lines you posted are identical there is no different setting related to the device type, so what are you trying to achieve, and how does it not work the way you expect? Sorry, i can't read the other post as it is in french.. :)

Bonjour Michael.. :)

I'm expecting to display a Video Spot (see the screen shot) with devices using different browsers.
So fare, my main video file .mp4 works with Chrome, Opera, Samsung and not with Firefox.

I’ve found several topics on the forum about the ’Alternative Files’ for videos embedding, but these topics seem to be relevant for a Video Scene and not for a Video Spot…?

This SOLVED post in French, highlights that for a Video Spot (with the browser's best compatibility...) it must be:
- Three video formats (mp4, webm, ogv) for a same video - extra two files to be added to the ‘spots’ folder after the project have been uploaded.
- The editing of MY-TOUR.xml as follows:

Re: hotspot video - compatibilité Firefox, Internet Explorer [RESOLU]

Change your code line

Code: Select all
videourl="%FIRSTXML%/spots/MY_VIDEO.webm"

TO
Code: Select all
videourl="%FIRSTXML%/spots/MY_VIDEO.mp4|%FIRSTXML%/spots/MY_VIDEO.webm|%FIRSTXML%/spots/MY_VIDEO.ogv"

I've tried this out (cf. my coded lines from my original post) and the Video Spot still do not work with Firefox. This SOLVED post is dating from 2016.. so I'm wondering if since the last PTP update, this method is still the right one?

Infos:
- My three video files are saved in 500/280.
- The .ogv and .webm video files have been trans-coded by default using the recommended http://www.online-convert.com
- Instead of getting the video to be displayed, I see the picture of the video thumbnail.
- If I open my .ogv and .webm video files with Firefox, the videos do displaying.

I’m not too sure what I’m doing wrong…

Julien

Hi Julien,

the video spot in your demotour works for me using Firefox (58.0.1 64-Bit on Linux) the same way it does with Chromium, in both cases i manually have to start it, but that's probably because you have set it to "pause on start", i guess. So maybe there is a version or platform related problem that i am not aware of.

Best wishes,
Michael

The issue is related using an Android or iOS device with Firefox browser, the video spot works fine on my laptop too.
Any tips?

Thank you,
Julien

Issue is only on Firefox ?
If yes, there is an issue into Firefox which can render a black tile for the video spots and livepanos.
I'll have a look ASAP.

Hello Benji, as fare as I've seen with my Android.. only with Firefox using video spots - mp4 (I don't use livepanos)
Still with my Android, a video spot works fine with Opera, Samsung browser and Chrome of course.

I found a similar and SOLVED topic on the forum. Your Kolor colleague -bdd- previously mentioned, the editing of the 'videourl' found into MYVISIT.xml. Find it here (french) viewtopic.php?f=94&t=33375&p=188683&hilit=video+firefox#p188683

I've tried it out but it's still don't work. I don't know if I did something wrong (I can read french), if that because of a PTP update (solved post dating from 2016), or is it something else?

Thanks for your support

Sorry for the delay. Ican't reproduce your issue, is it possible to better describe it please? What happens in your case?

Is it also possible to send me a zipped project with the issue on FF Android + iOS to be able to see what happens?
(Send me a private message and I'll give you my email address for a https://wetransfer.com usage.)

Hey, have a look here https://www.360production.asia/360-virt ... it/video-1

Using FF on my Android, that video spot is not displaying and standing by its thumbnail.
Thumbnail found in MYVISISTdata/spots

Looking for your email to forward you the project.

OK sorry seems to be linked to a Firefox issue. I've no issue with the latest FF 59.0.1 version but until 58.0.2 version the bug was present.
Try to update your FF version if possible on your Android device.
