Chinese language tour

by signmaster » Thu Feb 01, 2018 2:51 am

Hi All
I am after some advice on having a Chinese language tour. My daughter in law is Chinese and can handle the translations.
The tour is map driven so I think it will be best to just replicate the tour in Chinese rather than have a button to switch languages.
All the description fields would need to be in Chinese along with the titles in the gallery and the tooltips.
Really appreciate it if someone can give me some advice.

Here is a link to the tour in English http://discovermore.com.au/river.html

Yes if you want the description fields to change language then separate projects would be the way to go, as internationalisation isn't completely supported and HTML5 plugins such as the description don't refresh at the language change.

Hi Steve,

you could also use one tour and select the language and the startpano (map) via URL parameters or via individual index.html-files:

Example URL:
index.html?tour_language=zh&s=pano22

Or with different html-files, change the "embedpano"-section(s):
initvars:{skipintro:true,norotation:true,tour_language:"zh",s:"pano22"}

There is also an option to auto-detect the desired language and automatically deliver the "correct" html-file (e.g.: index.html.en or index.html.zh), but this depends on the webserver- and the browser-configuration, so this should only be used when the tour itself offers a way to change/correct the detected language.

Best wishes,
Michael

Thanks, Michael.
I hope to do some tests today before I quote my client. I think selecting from the map and going to another URL would work well.
