Can You Limit The Amount Of Rotation For Panoramas?

by NachoNick » Wed Jul 26, 2017 6:37 am

Does anyone know if its possible to set rotation parameters so that a panorama doesn't rotate the full 360º? A client I am doing a job for wants to cut out certain parts of a scene i.e not be able to rotate around to view a certain part of a panorama? If this can be done can someone please tell me how I can set this up.

Thanks,
Nick.

Hi Destiny,

Thanks for your reply but that doesn't seem to work. I want to be able to 'cut' a section of the panorama out effectively. Is there a way to only show like -145º to 170º? I know other virtual tour building software applications can do this.

You can use the CAOTE-plugin available here: http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/view/Panotour_-_Advanced_-_Extra_Plugins#CAOTE and make it pano-specific by setting the panoid at the bottom, then set the actions to perform when the new panorama gets loaded. For this you need the additional action "Call KrPano Code" available from the same page, just follow the different installation instructions at the top of the page for plugins/actions respectively.
The actions to call on panostart are (replace with your desired values):
Code: Select all
set(view.hlookatmin,-150);set(view.hlookatmax,150);
Out now: DeviceCheck for PTP plugins! https://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=37446

Want to know how clients use your tours? Google Analytics Track Events plugin: http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=34442

Add actions to your hotspots: Hotspot Actionlist plugin: http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=35829

Does using the crop tool in the hotspot editor not work?

Hi!

As Anis said use the "crop"-tool in PTs editor.

You also can do it after having finished the tour in the "name".xml of each single pano:

<panoview h="147.907061" v="-0.399598" fov="61.471211" hmin="-180" hmax="180" vmin="-90" vmax="90" fovmax="90" />

change "hmin=xxx" and "hmax=xxx" to a value which represents your prefered angle. The same you can do for vmin/vmax.

So you can edit the behavior without the need to re-do the tour.

best, Klaus
