Full panorama camera equipment or the Richo?

by greytail » Sat Jan 14, 2017 6:09 pm

After mastering an aerial panorama I am curious about getting into land based 360 panoramas. I have a Sony AVrii E-mount camera and a Manfrotto 360 panorama head, and was wondering about the Samsung 8mm for it, or should I not bother with all this and simply get the latest RICOH THETA camera which appears to match up well with Panotour Pro? The latter system seems very simple, quick and dirty, and for most, no one will notice the difference? Am I right?

The equipment to use depends entirely on the final quality you want for your tours.

The Ricoh Theta images are quick and easy to set up and use, but the quality is very limited.

Thanks, I am going to go with a Sony 28mm FE with a Sony 16mm converter. Do you know how many pictures I will have to take for each row...don't know how to calculate that..

You could try having a look here which is a good database http://www.vrwave.com/panoramic-lens-database/
If your lens isn't there you can look at an equivalent on the website, they'll give you the number of recommended photos.
