File permissions incorrect on upload  [SOLVED]

by Sky Avenue » Tue Apr 19, 2016 10:10 pm

When I upload any tour using Filezilla (latest version), some of the files on the server are set at permission 750 instead of 644. I am using P2P 2.5.2 64 bit and Mac OSX 10.10.4.

The affected files are always .png or .js or .swf files, never any others and not all of them are affected (it seems random).
It is really annoying having to go through each sub-directory (especially in the 'graphics' folder) and change the permissions of these files to 644 so the tours will work.

I have checked Filezilla forums and they indicate the problem is either with the web server or the way the files are produced on the local server before being uploaded.
My web host cannot find any issues with the server.
These files are produced by Panotour when the tour is built. I have discovered that some of these files end up with the setting of 'no access' for 'everyone' which then end up being permission 750 on the web server when uploaded.

Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a solution?

Thanks.

I would really appreciate someone from Kolor responding or someone else who may know a solution to this issue.
Thanks.

Did you try a different FTP program?

No not yet, however, FileZilla should work fine as it cannot change file permissions by itself (according to FileZilla).
I have discovered that Panotour Pro actually changes the file permissions some of the local files (.png, .js and .swf) when the tour is built each time. This should not happen. On Mac these files are set with permission of "no access" for "everyone" which translates to "750" when uploaded on a web server.
Using another FTP would not change the file permissions that have already been set by Panotour Pro.

Is anyone from Kolor able to investigate this issue please?
It happens on every upload.

All files generated or copied by Panotour Pro should have the same access rights.

They should, because all of them use the same action to force their rights to be readable in the tour.

Did you check if Panotour Pro 2.5.3 has the same issue ?
We changed the way the copy of existing files is done.

Same issue on v 2.5.3. Actually, this has been an issue on previous versions, and I have put up with it.
Now I am using the program a lot more, it is very inconvenient having to search for uploaded files with permissions of 750 and change them to 644 every time.

I know they should all be the same, but they are not :)

See screen shots below of files generated by Panotour when tour is built.

Here is a png file that has changed to "No Access": /graphics/KolorArea/images/btn_close.png

Other file types are generated with "Read Only" access which is correct when uploaded.
