What I am doing wrong - about stereoscopic pano?

by Frenchev » Fri Jan 29, 2016 4:55 pm

Hello Folks,

I am trying to make a stereoscopic panorama, but it doesn't work very well.
This is the pano: http://mint.pics/clients/pano5/index.html
And this is the hole tour: http://mint.pics/clients/pano5/pano5.zip

I don't why, but the pointer its not on the same place on both panoramas. Do you have any Idea why?

How is the right way to shoot stereoscopic panoramas actually? I just moved the tripod 6 cm to the side.
Is there a tutorial how to do it? I will appreciate any help. Thank you!

Moving the tripod will not work. Imagine your eyes are always side by side when looking into one direction, when you move just the tripod, the panoramas would simulate your eyes to be inverted when looking back and behind each other when looking left and right. In this way you will never be able to get a proper stereo effect.

The only way is to use a setup with dual cameras or use a single fisheyelense and the masking technology.

With some practice both methods deliver useful results where only the dual camera setup will allow you to shoot dynamic scenes with changing/moving objects.
