Multilingual site - Trigger narration

by MackyLuke » Thu Aug 13, 2015 9:27 pm

I need to trigger a French narration (background sound) to an English narration and vice-versa.

The only way I found was to create 2 groups and trigger the narration while accessing a group (FR or EN).

But! I have to import panorama twice and this double the time to upload and space on servers.

Any better Idea?

I use 2 Panorama Combobox, one showing the groups the other one the panorama of the current group.

Panotour 2.5 beta 2 has a "start" of multi language support for texts.
- Build option : http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/vie ... b#Advanced
- Action : http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/vie ... r_Language

Once implemented on text and tour is generated you can add this script into a xml file to manage sounds (as background sounds) into your tour (note : bgsounds array must be filled with files for each language and applied to each panorama ID) :
Code: Select all
<events name="changeSoundLanguages" changetourlanguage="loadLangBackgroundSounds();" keep="true" />
<action name="loadLangBackgroundSounds">
   for(set(i,0), i LT bgsounds.sound.count, inc(i),
      if(bgsounds.sound[get(i)].lang == tour_language,
         <!-- change all the background sounds files -->
         set(scene[get(bgsounds.sound[get(i)].pano)].backgroundsound, get(bgsounds.sound[get(i)].file));
         if(bgsounds.sound[get(i)].pano == scene[get(xml.scene)].name,
            <!-- play the current scene background sound -->
            playbackgroundsound();
         );
      );
   );
</action>
<bgsounds>
   <sound name="s1a" lang="en" pano="pano10" file="sound_en_pano10.mp3" /> <!-- same as pano10 scene background sound -->
   <sound name="s2a" lang="en" pano="pano11" file="sound_en_pano11.mp3" /> <!-- same as pano11 scene background sound -->
   <sound name="s3a" lang="en" pano="pano12" file="sound_en_pano12.mp3" /> <!-- same as pano12 scene background sound -->
   <sound name="s4a" lang="en" pano="pano13" file="sound_en_pano13.mp3" /> <!-- same as pano13 scene background sound -->
   <sound name="s5a" lang="en" pano="pano14" file="sound_en_pano14.mp3" /> <!-- same as pano14 scene background sound -->

   <sound name="s1b" lang="fr" pano="pano10" file="sound_fr_pano10.mp3" />
   <sound name="s2b" lang="fr" pano="pano11" file="sound_fr_pano11.mp3" />
   <sound name="s3b" lang="fr" pano="pano12" file="sound_fr_pano12.mp3" />
   <sound name="s4b" lang="fr" pano="pano13" file="sound_fr_pano13.mp3" />
   <sound name="s5b" lang="fr" pano="pano14" file="sound_fr_pano14.mp3" />
</bgsounds>

Thats really very interesting Benjamin.. I have been playing about with adding Multi Lingual Audio but my options are clumsy.. This is a much better solution.. Will it be written into the 2.5+ GUI at some stage..

Destiny...
