360 video

by psatter » Fri Jul 10, 2015 11:52 pm

Hello All!

2 quick questions:

1. Is it possible to insert a MP4 360 video (created in Autopano video Pro) into a HTML5 tour created in Panotour?

2. Is it possible to crate a standalone CD with non Kolor branded player?

Have a great weekend everyone.

Using Panotour Pro 2.5 in beta, yes you can.

You mean without the use of Panotour Viewer?
A tour needs to be viewed through a webserver (online or offline) to work correctly.

I think you can use the krpano testing server to launch the tour from a CD.
No tour in a single file though.

1. Yes it is possible and it works, see my tour:
http://www.luftpano.de/fotogipfel-oberstdorf/
choose the 3. panorama from the menu 'Höfatsblick'
there are two 360° Videos embedded...

Thanks Cliquetsy! Is it possible to have video hotspots within the 360 video as well?

Panoguy - I didn't see your 360 video inserted within a panotour. Do you have an example of that?

thanks again. Happy weekend.

See the example tour in the 2.5 announcement.

http://www.kolor.com/2015/06/29/virtual ... -5-beta-1/

It also mentions hotspots :
You can exit the video at any time by clicking/tapping on the hotspot located on the bottom. Remember, you can now add hotspots but their positions are fixed in the sphere (or in the plane for planar video scenes) for the video duration.

html5 has local restrictions like flash does for security reasons. ptp2 will work on a local machine however some features may not work. typically those that call to action like floorplans. hotspots linking panos should work fine.

If used on the iPad, some software such as fileapp documents top docs and good reader will allow the html5 to work without being on a server.

does ptp1 allow 360 video? if it does it maybe your best bet! I still use it because it works without problems on a local drive

Since PTP 2.5 has only just introduced support of 360° videos, no, PTP 1 doesn't support 360 videos...
