Start Virtual Tour with a Video

by RS360VTS » Fri Feb 27, 2015 1:27 pm

Hi Guys,

I have been asked if it is possible to start a tour with a video. Now I know this could be done with LivePano as I have seen examples, but that is not what I have been asked....
I want to use a free standing video which on completion starts the virtual tour.
I guess we can set the opening delay to match the video length, but can a full screen video be used as a planar projection.
Or would we need to use a free standing video, which on completion disappears to reveal the iframe contained virtual tour? Guess this is more webpage code manipulation...
If this is a possibility, what format should we use for the video? mp4, qtvr, ? any ideas.
Or maybe I should go down the livepano route? (Am I right in thinking I need Autopano Pro as well as Live Pano to do this? I normally use PTGui to stitch.)

Thanks..RS360VTS

You might be able to use the Event Action too, set to a Wait Time, not sure.. Auto Open a Video Box..

An issue exists for the call events plugin with Boxes but will be resolved soon.

I have not managed to solve the problem fully. I tried the alexpopov plugin, but not managed to get that to work yet, so tried a different appraoch.

Creating an autoplay webpage to run the video which after a set time switches to the tour.... seems to work reasonable well. The problem I have is autoplay is does not appear possible on ios devices.... shame, because works fine on my pc...

The example is to show a client the two possibilities. Video on start then switch to the tour, or an embedded video in a TV screen in the Virtual Tour scene.... here is my example.

Hi,
I created an html page which automatically starts the display of a video and moves to another page when the video finishes.
In this example the video moves to the virtual tour, which has an embedded video in the tour (on a TV), but in both cases the video does not autostart on my ipad.... only on my pc... and I believe autostart of video is not "permitted" on ios devices...

Correct, and embedded video is not displayed embedded on iPhones.

What do you mean by "embedded video"? A video from a URL?

By 'embedded' I mean video 'set' into the pano - for example video apparently displayed on a TV set - placed using a video hotspot.
