Missing / Disappearing / Broken Interface Elements

by grandkids » Tue Jul 01, 2014 12:36 pm

Hi!

This topic might have been raised before, but I can't find any solution in the forums.

After a build my interface elements (floorplan, description plugin, panorama combo box menu) are all missing.

I notice - from a developer perspective - that these are all HTML5 elements and are missing.

The underlying flash component is loading fine.

I've deleted and re-instated these three elements in the style tab, but to no avail.

Any leads for how to solve this?

Thanks!

As far as I can work out what you are trying to do.. You are trying to view your Tour locally.. Sorry to say you cannot do this.. You will need to either use the PTP Green Button - Preview Last Pano, which is an inbuilt testing server or the krpano Testing Server.. Or.. upload to a server...

Hi guys, thanks for the response.

I have been running my tests through the PTP2 Virtual Server, so it's not that.

I used this helpful addition to the URL just now < ?html5=always > and I received a 'fatal error' - 'xml parsing failed'

any ideas where to look next?

also: every pano is rebuilt during build whereas only new panos were built in previous builds.

certainly this indicates a problem.

your help is appreciated!

When you got such error, the first thing to do is to open the XML file in which is the error with a browser.
Most browsers will tell you exactly where is the error : which line, and which error it is.

I just fixed such error in the main XML file of tours that contain mono-resolution panorama.
The "devices" attribute is duplicated, which is an error in XML specification.
The fix will be in next Panotour release

Tell me where is the error, and the code around it. I will send you the fix you'll have to do in the XML file.

I found the unicode text error and removed it from its place in the pano's description.

See attached for the new xml file inspection result.

The tour still presents a 'fatal error' xml parsing issue.

Where to next?

Out of interest, how do these issues arise?

Thanks for your help and direction guys!

I tracked some some unicode text formatting errors within my descriptions that were causing the xml parsing error.

Everything is working again,

Cheers!

Can you send us a small kpt file with a description containing this unicode character ?

Gérald
