Hi all, you all know google streetview and google business photo panorama. Pretty ugly stitching and rendering, but google has one feature i really like:
When you go to the next pano, your "compass heading" is preserved.
So you can make a long chain of panos, start in the first, you have the "goto next pano" button immediately in your view, and you can walk throug the panos and have the next "goto next pano" button immediately. Then at the end of the line, you turn 180 degree, and go back through the chain of panos without need of twisting a single pano.
Google can preserve the compass heading by forcing the origin of each pano pointing to north.
Can this be done with ptp 1.8 / 2.x when i set the origin of my panos to north? By menu, by hand editing the xml?
You beat me to it. This is EXACTLY what I was about to post a request for.
If all panos have north set in PTP2 can there be an extra option in hotspot properties for "retain fov and pov" so it jumps to the next pano and keeps you facing the same direction and at the same zoom level.
It won't be something everybody will use, especially if there's no line of sight between panos but it would save loads of time in big tours having to set custom view for each hotspot.
