Compass and maps

by clausjepsen » Sat Nov 23, 2013 10:22 am

I have oriented my floor plan to 320 degrees, which is the direction for the top of the map. In the tour the compass needle is 180 degrees wrong - if red is supposed to show north, which is normal.

I can't find anywhere to set my open street map to the correct coordinates. It opens up in Paris.

Funny, when I press the icon for the map (hidden during start up) it does not show up, but says hide maps. First on my 3. press on the button it works. Must be a bug.

.

I am confused are we talking about floorplans or maps?

The North arrow feature of the Floorplan plugin seems to be working fine for me: see below.

Panotour maps are always displayed with North at the top.

The Compass setting - for each panorama - is set in Panorama properties in the 3D Editor pane using the compass tool.

This position brings me to Geneve, but when I press the globe in PTP, then it correctly shows me öludenitz in Turkey. I have geotagged the start up picture of my show.

In the next picture I am looking straight north as the arrow on the floor plan shows, but my compass is 180 degrees wrong.

I don't understand.

Do you have hotspots on the map associated with different panoramas/scenes?

Let's see a screenshot.

In the next picture I am looking straight north as the arrow on the floor plan shows, but my compass is 180 degrees wrong.

So is the pointer on the floorplan correct?

..............

I am finding it somewhat confusing talking about geotagging, Panotour maps and Floorplans in the same post.

Geotagging has nothing to do with compass directions nor with Floorplans.

Can we deal with one thing at a time? Maps or Floorplans but not both at once.

Sorry if I am messing things up, I juste mean, that I assigned these coordinates for this particular pano, which have links to other panos, but the right maps is not showing up.

The arrow on my floor plan is correct, but the compass is 180 degrees wrong.

Edith: Now it works with the map. I changed from open street map to bing and back again and suddenly it works.

Do you have hotspots for each/every panorama on the map?

I have a link to one pano from my start up pano.

It is only the roadmap that works and I would preferre satellite view.

Thanks, Now the compass works, I found the small icon on the picture.

You may need to have a map point linked to every panorama/scene?

It seems to be working fine for me - see screenshots.

You have to set the compass interpretation for every panorama in the Panorama properties 3D editor panel.

The red end of the compass needle points in the direction of the current view using the default Compass plugin skin.

You can select the default map type and also add a Maptype control in the Panotour maps plugin parameters.

That is because you have specified the OpenStreetMap map layer in the Panotour maps plugin parameters.

My screenshot showed the Bing map layer.
