First try

by leifs » Wed Oct 30, 2013 10:13 pm

I've been scratching the surface of PTP2, and have a couple of questions.
First: is there any way of making a transparent background for the title, like it is for the buttons ? I can't find it.
Second: the ikons in the share plugin is way too big. Is there a way to downsize the "window" and the ikons ?

For text you can use the alpha..

As for resizing the Social Share, I cannot find any way of achieving it in the code.. There is nothing in the UI to achieve this.. You might need to add this to the Feature Request... You are right, it is far too big.. Its is made using the KolorBox... so it should be easy to add...

There is no sub-forum for PTP2 Feature Request afaics. Do you mean "Panotour Future" ?

Yes, sorry this is the area, since there is no feature request for 1.8 :)

I see your issue.. Its for this reason I have requested pano spacific features like the Logo which could be used... But that is Tour spacific so no good... I think Beta 3 might have more for you.... I am sure the social media size feature could also be added...

Resizing the social icons...
Open the directory of the built tour and look for \tourname\graphics
Open the kolorBox.css file in scroll towards the bottom and look for

a.socialButton
{
display:block;
float:left;
text-indent: -99999px;
width:64px;
height:64px;
overflow: hidden;
margin:5px;
cursor: pointer;
}
Change the 64 to 32
Save and upload.

Open the folder \tourname\graphics\images
Open all the social_images and resize them from 64 x 128 to 32 x 64.
Save and upload.

I resized btn_close from 32 x 64 to 16 x 32.
In the kolorBox.css file find
a.closeBtn
{

}

between the
{

}
add this

a.closeBtn
background: url(images/btn_close.png) no-repeat;
display: block;
float: left;
width: 16px;
height: 16px;
overflow: hidden;
text-indent: -9999px;
cursor: pointer;
background-position: top;

This worked for me in making the social icons smaller. However, every time you build the tour all of these files are overwritten. I made a backup folder with the smaller icons and the .css file which makes it easy just to upload.

I probaly should have worded that different... I cannot find an 'easy' way to editing the code... :lol:

I have been trying to create a User Directory for this so you do not have to keep doing it or keep editing the code.. Its true, if you change something in your Tour, the Social code is overwritten which is painful..

I am sure it can be done soon via the UI..

I can't find the css-file. This is what it looks like in the graphics folder for me.

If you are using PTP in trial mode, then you have no access to these files...

I've paid for the upgrade. I usually don't pay for betas, but I did it this time.

In that case you should have access to the xml and CSS files.. This is my file structure of a very basic test Social Media (SM) test.. I only added the menu....

You should have similar files.. I have tried to make an easy fix for the code but its not happening..
As burntpixel said, you will need to make a copy of your edited xml and CSS and redo it accordingly.. Its not the best of fixes but it is at least a fix.. An easy fix would be to do this via the UI.. which I would personally be waiting for if its not an urgent issue.. I really do not see this being hard to add to the Social Media UI opens.. but I am not entirely sure.. Just nag Kolor... ;)

I found it and did it. Yes, it works, but I'm in no hurry just testing. So I expect Kolor to see it and fix.
I looked for the .css-files in the program folders, to eventually correct it there, but I couldn't find any .css-files. So I'll be waiting.
